chrisk Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 that's interesting. I'm surprised a K model would be included in your list. I wouldn't consider it in the same group as someone that would get a C. I had a 1965 172 before. It was a 100kt plane. Every Mooney is way faster. What drove my decision was the equipment in the plane, its general condition and recent use. An autopilot was high on the list, which removed a lot of the older planes. As for C's, there was one for sale here a few years ago I would have been happy to have. If I remember right, it was a turbo with a really nice panel. Quote
bonal Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 The proper way to pack an E model.. Everything, but the kitchen sink. Headed to Oshkosh last year. It was just the two of us, but well packed. This is the back seat and hat rack. Are you sure there isn't a kitchen sink in there 1 Quote
mike_elliott Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 Are you sure there isn't a kitchen sink in there You should have seen Bill Raybeck unload his J at Oshkosh after the caravan landed a few years ago. There was a sink in it, along with a stove, a shelter, a tent, 5 or 6 chairs, a bike, sleeping bags, cooking utensils toilet paper etc...He had a CAD drawing of how it was packed.. 2 Quote
TWinter Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 I told her we were only staying for three days...She said, " I know, that's all I packed for "..I'm thinking, OMG, glad it was not a week. Quote

carusoam Posted January 30, 2015 Report Posted January 30, 2015 Christmas takes two flights... Once with the gifts, the week before... The second Is to bring the children... There is a narrow window where the young ones recognize parts of the outside world and still believe. This is the magical part of being a Mooney owner. Best regards, -a- Quote

Hank Posted January 30, 2015 Report Posted January 30, 2015 Did you get permission to make that post? Negative. It's been posted before, and shown around, in "how much will fit in your plane" type conversations. Note the extension cord for engine preheat on top of everything. Quote
