I just saw this about wing boarding and it looks pretty cool. Might slow your Mooney down but you could then get 5 people to your destination maybe 6 if they make a two person wing board. :)

When I was a young teenager we used to water ski often but given the price of gas at the time relative to wages  we would ski behind the boat as we were traveling to our camp accomplish two things at once.  This could work the same way.  Though I’m not sure I’d want to be towed behind a plane for 3 hours.

If you are running this as a commercial operation, does it count as banner towing, sightseeing, parachuting, or perhaps general carriage?

And not at 150 mph either. More like 50 or 60. Getting too close to stall for me.

Watched a video on AOPA'S site and its just in a model state. I for one would hate to have some thrill seeking nut pulling my tail up down and all around. just think of the effect a water skier has on the stern of a boat cant imagine the effect it would have on your CG.

No Thanks!

You are correct about the forces on the tail and on a boat and that is with the tow rope anchored near the engine and or rudder.  We use to have fun just seeing how much we could move the back end of the boat while skiing. ;)

A couple of Yamaha KT100 motors would do the trick but you would have to have quite a pair to climb on and hit the throttle

Yikes!

Definitely shared expenses, but of course the guy without a seat doesn't have to pay his full % share. :)

Good point - so this would be a way to transport 5 (or 6 or 7) people with my little 4 seater airplane.
