Marauder Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 Here's a video of mine in action. And I count 4 sides to the cam... 'Josh http://youtu.be/FfNIsqaLWyw Josh! Saved me a trip to the airport tonight. David -- that's the critter I am dealing with as well. My cam is not as worn, but close! What can you do? Quote
Sabremech Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 Here's what I made for mine. I just alodined them but they can be anodized for better corrosion protection. If you guys are interested, I'll price a set of 4 and let you know what they would cost. David Quote

Sabremech Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 I took my seats out, so the hardest part was driving out the split pin. i'll get pricing on them. David 3 Quote
rdav Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Thank you for that video Josh! I had always assumed that the seat adjustment was continuously variable on an eccentric cam that I could never quite adjust correctly .. Seeing this makes much more sense! Quote
Sabremech Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 I can make a set ( 4 each ) like mine (alodined) for $295. Anodizing raises the cost a bit and also the time to make them. If you're interested, contact me at sabremech at gmail.com. David Quote

That's what I thought too before this thread. ...and I think leaving your the cam set near one of the corners is how you have a seat screw up just after takeoff. Quote

He hasn't in the past, but this is a seat... 1 Quote
BJM61 Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 I have a 61 B and don't think there is any adjustment, just a spring with a pin that drops into a hole in the seat frame. Can anyone tell me if maybe my seats are missing a part or was there just no adjustment on the 61 B model? Being able to make raise the back of the seat to a more vertical position would help my back passengers and save my back from leaning forward constantly. Thanks in advance!! Quote
carusoam Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 The thread is long, but you'll get the full explanation of what planes have the older version... Start at the top and brief your way down. Best regards, -a- Quote
Bob_Belville Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 I suppose talker pilots might want a position other than the most upright which is where I leave mine all the time. (I'm 5'-8" w 29" inseam so I take off and land in the second from the front seat position and slide the seat back a couple of notches during cruise but I keep the back upright.) Quote
BJM61 Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 I have had the same thing happen on my B model on more than one occassion.  I found that the seat back adjustment lever is attached via a cable to a pin that inserts into a hole in the seat frame.  Each time it has happened, I found that the pin had come out of the hole.  I put it back in and all was well.  But, I too am looking for a permanent fix to avoid repetition. rocky  If you get a chance, I would love to see a pic of the adjustment lever and cable that adjusts your setbacks. My seats (61 seem to have only 1 position and no adjustment with that pin (no lever or cable attached). The only adjustment is to remove the pin and then the seat just lays all the way back against the back seats. My seats must be missing something or were never adjustable. We have been looking for a solution for a while, and have considered just making a taller pin to slip into the hole. Figured if I had 3 different sized pins could just slip in the one I want before that flight, not an ideal fix so any info would help. Thanks in advance.  If I get out to the plane before I leave on my next work trip, I will try to post some pics of what mine looks like. Quote
