This is a post that Don Maxwell just sent to the MAPA list. He's looking for an A&P (seriously):

-----

We are seriously looking for a mechanic. Some of you may know of a mechanic that is ready for a change. We are looking for one.  I’m looking for an A&P maybe an IA, but once they become IA’s all they want to do is drink coffee and look at AD list. I hold that position. I would like an A&P that has actually worked on an airplane. Real airplanes have reciprocating engines with magneto’s. Graduating from Lear Jet mechanic school means nothing. The first test will be to identify a magneto and the second test will be to actually install it. The phrase, “I was a crew chief on a Blackhawk, Cobra or C-130,”  I have found, means that they were able to identify one. The term crew chief means absolutely nothing to general aviation. Our hangar is very hot this time of year. Our benefit package consist of having ample work, free Lipitor and you get paid weekly. My wife says I am hard to work for. I don’t accept calls from employee’s wives saying they are too sick to come to the phone. I did not hire her and if you are that sick, call the funeral home. If you are a demy, just keep it to yourself. We practice don’t ask, don’t tell here. Like I said, it’s real hot here and if they’re tuff enough, like to work we’d like to talk to him. I’d consider a woman BUT my guys would just want to help her all the time. It would be worse than a customer assisted annual. Any leads will be appreciated.

I think he really needs a mechanic!!!  His request is humorous but, it appears dead serious.

I wonder if Don accepts "demys" as customers. If I were advising a business owner in today's politically charged climate, I might recommend that he avoid insulting (even in humor) a significant portion of his already focused customer base.

Anyone know which one of his guys, Mike or Tom, is out of commission?

And before anyone takes his Democratic humor too seriously...he does indeed have some friends and customers of that persuasion.  There is plenty of ribbing back and forth. :)

Don is from an era when right was right and everyone knew what right was. No PC,  just use good manners and don't try to force your views on everyone else. If you chose to have a different opinion at least have the decency to have thick enough skin not to run for an ACLU lawyer when someone tells you where to stick it.  Makes Don sound like a National Treasure doesn't it?
