DaV8or Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 and see what you find... in images! I know everybody has already pulled up all the records on their plane, but try this, Google your N number, then click images. When I did this, I found this cool composite picture of me and my plane photographed, put together and posted on the internet by a complete stranger, without my knowledge. That's me at Merced airport (KMCE) about two years ago. 1
Hank Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I do this from time to time. Surprisingly, after going to SNF and flying 5000+ feet along 9R at 15' agl before they let me land, no one posted any photos. But I did find a video of myself and a Cherokee landing nearby for a small airshow and chicken dinner.
aviatoreb Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Huh! What do you know - there's "me" at Oshkosh! http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/000503209.html Only I have never been to Oshkosh - so it must be the previous owner at least 4 years ago.
Bob_Belville Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I get a lot of pics "borrowed" from Moneyspace galleries.
orionflt Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I did that a few years ago and found this https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CB0QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smithsonianmag.com%2Ftravel%2Fit-was-a-dark-and-stormy-night-6573553%2F&ei=WxG0U-XOIIrUsATZtIHIBQ&usg=AFQjCNGgGR_vcNO1tft76D8lbxtzbVZhvw&sig2=AAly87lV1TeZ_E4BHsXesg&bvm=bv.70138588,d.cWc I have been in contact with the author he didn't own the plane but did some instruction in it with the owner and borrowed it on occasion. It is kinda neat finding historical tidbits about your airplane. Brian
bonal Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I tried and it brought up all of the Mooneyspace pics the only one of my plane is the one you see here
Marauder Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I don't exist Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
rbridges Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 for some reason, this is the 10th pic on the list. Makes sense.
Z W Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I've done that before. Came up with this cool picture of me on my long instrument cross-country in my former plane. I know because that's the only time I went to the Joplin airport in that plane.
N9201A Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I found several pics of my plane including two from different OSH trips and one from an overnight enroute to OSH. I have heard of "plane spotting" and "trainspotting" but didn't think our piston singles merited that much attention!
Hank Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I've landed with camera crews beside the runway, but they still have not posted any pictures of me . . . Guess they wanted someone else.
DaV8or Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 I found several pics of my plane including two from different OSH trips and one from an overnight enroute to OSH. I have heard of "plane spotting" and "trainspotting" but didn't think our piston singles merited that much attention! Yeah, I didn't know either. Only problem is, in the caption, or notes on my picture above, I'm incorrectly identified as a Mooney M20P.
mooniac15u Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Yeah, I didn't know either. Only problem is, in the caption, or notes on my picture above, I'm incorrectly identified as a Mooney M20P. That's just the ATC designation for all non-turbo M20's.
Bob_Belville Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 M20P (piston) is our flight plan designation irrespective of model.
orionflt Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I have several photos from Osh, I also made the Osh Kosh video in 2006 with my Mooney, and again in 08 in the Aztec i was partnered in for a few years. Brian
PTK Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Here's one of my departures from WWD with family three years ago. Someone was spying from behind the fence!
Marauder Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 Pete -- they weren't spying. They were just a little vertically challenged. Didn't you hear the videographer yell "Ze Plane, Ze plane" and ringing a bell in the background? For you young guns: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
