  1. either SWTA or LASAR I'm not sure which offers small access panels in the corners. I have the small access panels and it is nice but not as nice as the original access panels. If the one with the small access panels is not available.I would do some rear panel work and clean up when you do the windshield keeping in mind the limited access.
  2. Sure you can wait until annual. I tend to do things like this at annual. However, it appears to have been going of for more than the last 6 months since the last annual.
  3. go into the settings menu. AUX SETUP DATABLOCK SETUP Left or right data blocks and find GPS CDI select this and it will place a CDI on your screen.
  4. precision hose technology (PHT) can make them up for you.
  5. my rate was the same as last year.
  6. Go Avidyne either the 440, 540 or 550 with built in attitude indicator. You will be glad you did. Minimal install costs if you have a 430 or 530 now.
  7. I flew to Gulf Shores for lunch (KJKA) left got home and while fueling the plane I realized I still had the courtesy car keys in my pocket. SF&&^^%%*((*&^%$## I called the girl at JKA and went back the next day for ,lunch again. not a bad weekend.
  8. Yes these caps are for planes fitted with fuel bladders. That's the same part number on my F with bladders.
  9. are your talking about the bearing race that is in the wheel? The can be somewhat of a pain. Ideally you would use a hydraulic press to push it out. However with care you can use a hammer and drift pin just take your time. I've never heard of a race cracking??
  10. I worked 2 weeks from home before being called back to the office. I can do probably 90% of my work form home. I could go to the office 2 or 3 days a week to handle the other 10%. My company has point blank said we will not be a work from home company and this is fine by me. Obviously there are those who believe that if they can't see you you are not working even to the point of making comments about closed office doors. I like being a the office more than being home. It would be nice to see more private aircraft travel as a result of this but then big companies think flying one's own plane is akin to walking a tight rope across the grand canyon with the wind blown 60kts but driving you personal vehicle is perfectly fine.
  11. I just renewed mine with Global negligible price change <$100
  12. Speaking of Sensrcon doesn't Mooney summit have a test kit? I'm due for a calibration.
  13. yes order the GL-30-HD (2" O.D. x 1/8" buna) but ask them to make it special out of 1/16" thick rubber
  14. etch a sketch on a larger scale
  15. Sweet but you need to replace the bud light with some Abita amber beer Yes Mooney can haul a lot. If you remove the back seat there is a ton of space then.
  16. Wonderful place. I went in 1978, 1988 and in 2016. Looking to go back. My biggest complaint is they won't let you fly in. WTH it's an aviation museum with a runway on site.
  17. Good article and very true I had a dream of being an Air Force Pilot and ended up a private pilot instead. I had a dream to own an airplane early on when I got my private. It would be 23 years before that dream was realized. I too am a Mooney pilot now and have been for the past 10 years. Now about that helicopter and RV-6
  18. Good new on the 440 you will like it a lot. Don't forget the IFD 100 program to run on your I pad rely nice especially with the smaller 440 screen. There is a shop in Houma that does installs and one at Paterson. Let me know when you go maybe I can follow you and pick you up. We can have a beer after the flying is done.
  19. How about a retractable light in one of the big inspection covers under the wing?
  20. Do you need the N number to ferry the plane? If not then wait until you are almost ready to fly and then apply for a new N number or try and get the original back if available at that time. Sounds like this is a project that will take a year or more to complete. Gray tape always works to apply a number temporarily if necessary to ferry it.
  21. A-10 is the best ground support aircraft built!! JMHO
  22. Aveo engineering Ultra Galactica 3 in one strobe. I have these are they are very nice. https://www.aveoengineering.com/ultra-galactica-2/ Or the wingtip version very very nice. Crystal Conforma for Mooney https://www.aveoengineering.com/crystal-conforma-for-mooney/
  23. I'm dong fine thanks. We had some wind but nothing else. Unfortunate and sad what happened in Monroe. With all this down time and not flying to places for meetings and events I've been working on my "office" at the hangar. I am being green too I'm using recycled wood from a buddy's deck he ripped out a couple of years ago and was storing in the hangar anyway. I figured I store it in a different fashion.
  24. I need some eye sanitizer now that Maurder has chimed in.
