Good luck getting Trey to chip in on the fuel, Don ;)

Wish I could be there this year, but I'll be up in CT.

Friar Tuck is within walking distance if you sneak under the fence, has good food and better prices, but is nothing out of the ordinary. For something special, my tip of the month is this historical marker, and step back in history. Great food served by kids on roller skates at very reasonable prices. About a three mile beautiful drive along the lake, and well worth it.

FORUM UPDATE: Jack Wiegand, www.Solo2013.com to attend Oshkosh!

Been around the world and now going to Oshkosh!

After successfully circumnavigating the globe solo (age 20) in a Mooney Ovation Jack will add Oshkosh to his flight plan!

Look for him at the Mooney Forum!

Working with Trey Hughes. He's trying to attend in person to represent MAPA! Potentially hopping a ride with Don Maxwell. Glad to have MAPA at AirVenture!

Good work, Dave!

There's a rumor that Dmax has contracted with a well known ferry pilot to deliver him and Trey safely up to Oshkosh. If so, gonna be a tight W&B. ;)

Fair skies, everyone.

This sounds awesome, and god willing and the creek don't rise, I'll attend the Monday session. But I'm wondering how 11 presenters are going to fit in 75 minutes, with less than 10 minutes each?

Everyone only get 5 mins max for an intro and then the rest of the time is Q&A with the audience. Goal is to generate two-way interaction with the folks.

Well known ferry pilot? With those guys on board its probably a well known 'fairy' pilot! Don't worry about the W&B I hear those 'fairy' pilots are pretty light in the loafers.

Hey Dave, speaking for the Caravan, we don't need five minutes.  Just want to get the websites out there -- www.mooneycaravan.com and share your pictures at www.mooneycaravan.shutterfly.com -- and answer questions about our awesome all-formation format that has led to an uptick in participation and year-round flying, even for those who cannot make OSH.

Thanks for putting this on - the Mooney community is lucky to have you and the energy you have added to our ranks.  See you in a couple weeks!

Looking forward to hearing Jack's presentation to us at the Mooney Forum.

Jack will also be speaking to us, at California Dreamin', here in San Luis Obispo, CA, October 18-19.

CA Dreamin' is a free event.  You can register now at www.calpilots.org

See you all at Osh.  Safe flight everyone :)

I saw Mooney has booths 174 and 175 at Oshkosh. Is the factory sending people or is that one that's reserved for MAPA, Ambassadors, etc?

Unfortunately, Mooney Aircraft is NOT on the 2013 AirVenture Exhibitors list (again).  http://www.airventure.org/exhibitors/2013Exhibitors.pdf

Teresa from ArtCraft Paint (avid Mooney supporter) will have a booth and the Mooney Ambassadors have hung out there in the past. No Mooney booths at OSH, unless you count the Mooney Caravan tent in the North 40. We'll do out best to host our fellow Mooney drivers.

I put an email into the VP at Mooney. I don't believe Mooney is coming. That would be a happy day when Mooney and MAPA are back at OSH.

Thanks to the folks at ArtCraft and Mitch/Jolie we'll have some refreshments available at the forums to help lubricate the conversations. Mooney pilots may obtain additional hydration nightly at the Mooney Caravan tent! "Stay thirsty my friends!"

Besides nostalgia, why is it a good thing that MAC will attend Oshkosh? Seriously. They aren't selling new airplanes, and they have a captive audience in us for parts sales. What is the business justification for attending? Do they plan to resume production!?

Jim

It may make them more marketable as a company.  Or at least encourage everyone that parts are being manufactured...a lot of people don't know this.
