I understand that some of you may not want to use your real name as your primary identification, but quite a few times, I have read a post and wondered about the background, location, career, etc. of the poster. For those of you not in the witness protection program, would you mind taking a few minutes to udpate your profile with some information about you. I promise not to spread your personal information outside the Mooney community.

Thanks

Boy it's tough being serious here.

I get my fill of serious at work; I fly to destress. When I'm not flying, I come here . . . .

Ok Don you ask so here you go.  Lacee Lamphere is my real name!  But as a Lawyer you alone should know that the more information that one discloses does not necessary equate to more beneficial.  I will PM you my brief Bio.

I use my real name and include quite a bit of personal info just in case anyone cares. There's no reason I can see why the good guys shouldn't have info that the bad guys know how to get anyway.

I also use my real name on Mooney space, I even use it as my e-mail address.I have never hid from anyone, telemarketers just get hung up on and no one has kidnapped me yet.

I chose to use my real name, and to post some information I thought would be if interest to other forum members. and to perhaps give some weight to my opinions relative to flying, and Mooneys in particular. There is so much data about all of us out in the Web, not to mention governmental files of all sorts, that I doubt one could hide their identity for very long. I find it informative to read some of the member profiles to know where they are located, general aviation experience, and occupation.

Count me in. The internet could use some more civil discourse. The worst posts always come anonymously.

I don't think there is too much more that I could disclose. I you want more about me just ask. Also there is the introduction thread that many of us have put a little bio on.

Updated as suggested, good idea. Nothing to hide, guess I was lazy the first time around. Now you know my birthday and no longer have an excuse not to send me a b'day present. New photo coming soon, had one before but when things changed I could not longer upload it. Will try again

Thanks to all who updated. Maybe that will induce others to do so. I don't have any particular one(s) I want to check on, but it is amazing how often I read a post and wonder who he is, what airport he based at, or some other bit of information to help put the post in context. And at my age and stage of memory, I usually don't remember whether he/she put the information in a prior post.

My info - Al Payne. I've been flying rentals at PNE since 2000. Started researching Moonies about 2 yrs ago and found this site. Bought my first plane in December - 83 M20J N5639M based at N87. I've learned a lot here and usually can find answers to questions just by reading.

I use "bumper" 'cause that's my real nickname  :)

"aka" John Morgan

The bumper came about from when I rode motors on Oakland PD. Like fighter pilots they give each other handles. Lead character in Joseph Wambough's "The Blue Knight" was a pudgy beat cop named "Bumper Morgan" . . .  though I've never been pudgy,  I didn't have to do much else to earn the nickname.

....and may I mention that bumper has been a Mooney guy long before MooneySpace came into existence.

Good to have you here, John.

As you can see, I agree. I am from Argentina,  I have been flying since 1992, I learned to fly in NJ (Caldwell), have owned an airplane since 1996, moved to DC, bought a Mooney, got divorced... then moved to Peru, then NY got married (but kept my Mooney), Bolivia and now Guatemala... Who knows where next...

Guys....how about putting all this excellent background in your profiles? That way we can review it when we don't like the advise you're offering. One of the charms of this site is that there are a lot of relatively inexperienced pilots with loads of advise to give.

"Pull back to go slower, pull back even more to go very fast....but only for a very short period of time" ;)
