Steve65E-NC Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 Have you talked to Triad Aviation, Burlington, NC. http://www.hhtriad.com/ta.asp . Talk to shop manager Othman Rashed 336-227-1467. They have a very good reputation locally and Othman has always been very helpful to me during 21 years of Mooney ownership. They are a lot closer to you than TX. Quote
timpercarpio Posted April 28, 2013 Author Report Posted April 28, 2013 Thanks I'll contact them. Quote
aviatoreb Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 We have a '78J that needs an engine overhaul. Has anyone ever heard of or used this company? www.heartoftexasaircraftengines.com/ Thanks, Tim Wow - those prices are so low, makes you wonder if they do anything more than apply a feather duster to the engine and call it overhauled. How can they be less than half the price of the top shops? Makes me wonder. Quote

bnicolette Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 Tim have you talked to Aero Engines of Winchester? He arranged the pickup and delivery of my engine when it needed some repairs. I was really impressed with the speed at which we got the engine back and also that he took the time to clean everything up and paint it. It came back looking like a new engine. They are located in Winchester, VA Quote
timpercarpio Posted April 28, 2013 Author Report Posted April 28, 2013 I'll give them a call tomorrow. Quote
quik flite Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 Call Columbia Aircraft Services in Bloomsburg, PA if you are doing all remove and install . If you need it removed and installed professionally Webers is the best and right in your backyard. (Webers can do the whole job if you like.) They are both very reasonable. Quote
timpercarpio Posted April 29, 2013 Author Report Posted April 29, 2013 quik flite. I've heard good things about Columbia and I'm familiar with and have high regard for Weber. Thanks for the info. Quote
