Help settle marital paint scheme dispute!

#2. I get unbelievably a lot of compliments it doesn’t get much darker than mine..I also think #1 is nice and calm both are more than acceptable

I like option #1, but done in dark blue and a light grey for an accent color.

Just don’t pick something outrageous, Im reminded of a plane owned by an Alabama guy, all red, inside and out with “roll tide” in large letters. Basically eliminating potential buyers not Alabama fans.

I have similar interior color and went with standard flowing design with dark blue on the underside.

wow...both are good looking...I  really like the blue color. not quite so complicated..

Miy Ovation is not quite as exciting  so I would pick #2

I think #1 but with #2's colors would possibly look nice

I like my paint scheme, which is basically the factory scheme.  The only thing I would do differently is do the leading edges in a darker color.  1)  to see any ice and to 2)  warm up more in the sunshine to prevent or remove any ice.

If you're going to do leading edge a different color, look at how far back it should go. Any disruption in the airflow in the leading edge, even as small as the ridge that's sometimes created by different paint lines, causes a loss of lift.

Wow, that is a clean hangar!  And, I like that paint scheme too.  If I got mine resprayed, I would probably go back with something very near factory.

The hangar was new to me.  It doesn't look like that any more.

Ours is similar, and it would match any exterior scheme.

Paint a small square to show where the ice is, but anytime you paint the leading edge of a Mooney wing you’re going to trip the laminar flow right there at the paint edge, and it’s real.  The also, a lot harder to touch up because it’s going to take bugs and stone chips and things like that and then you’ll have a little white spots where the white base coat underneath of the shining through the dark.

In a perfect world, I would repaint with the dark color going back to the spar.

Odd man out again am I.  Scheme number two.  I have a similar blue.  It is no hotter than other non dark Mooney's I have owned.  The folks living where they are already miserable in summer imagine being even more miserable?  Numer one scheme is fine, but colors are meh to my eye.  Either one will be very nice, but the blue with accents for the win.  I like dark...

Very nice Scott, I know envy is not a good emotion but damn.  As for paint scheme well try to think about how it will age in time not the paint but the design.  Sometimes simple clean lines tend to be more timeless than elaborate swooping and swirling designs.

Okay, I have an update to anyone who is following this and really wants to know where we decided to go with our paint scheme design.  Spoiler alert, I'm revealing my and my husband's preferences, which I think some of you may have already figured out.  He preferred the plain (in my opinion boring) white and gray design, I really liked the dark blue (but really, just want some color in general).  I had chatGPT help me create these designs by altering existing Mooney paint schemes I found on the internet.  

I've used the strategy above (using chatGPT) to create yet a third option which I do believe is going to be the paint scheme we go with.  Those of you who liked Option 1 but wished it had a little more pizzaz or color will appreciate our newest design.  I'm sorry if I sound like I'm making a big deal about this, but the amount of emotional/mental energy spent on this one decision was really causing frustration for me... it's an expensive proposition that I want to make sure we get right so we end up loving our paint scheme for years and years to come.  I'm happy to say I think we've accomplished this.

So without further ado, I present to you... the winning design (just imagine the first airplane without the missing head, which is why I included the other complete image)!   Thanks to all for your input.
