Oceano Airport [L52] bring lawn chairs, blankets, and an attitude for fun.  The KOA-Kids of Oceano Airport will have s’mores and popcorn on a donation basis.  The FOA-Friends of Oceano Airport will have cook your own hamburgers and hot dogs available.  Camping is available $10 per night.  We will be showing episodes of Rocky and Bullwinkle to open and the main feature the movie Airplane! The Pacific Plaza Resort is within walking distance and offers a pilot discount. Fly and Ride Bike loan available.

Please come join us for Movie Night at Oceano Airport, Aug. 4, 2012.  Movie is AIRPLANE!  Beach Burgers and Beach Dogs provided by Friends of Oceano Airport, but.........you do the cookin' on provided grills.  Camp fires and marshmallows will be roasted too.  Brings your chairs and blankets and have fun with us.

Fly to L52 LOP, ROP, bladders, wet wings, etc.  Just come!  2315 ft of beach front runway.  Any Mooney can land/takeoff here with plenty of runway to spare!!

I have landed Oceano before and it's a great airport!  I picked it by panning up the California coast line and finding the runway closest to the beach.  I wish I was free to zip over and support this great cause and I would highly encourage anyone on the fence to take the plunge.  It's a great airport and they could use the support!

Hey Rick, thanks much.  The fellow that wants to bulldoze our airport has been badmouthing us again.  A few weeks ago he was escorted out of the Oceano Community Services District meeting for being disruptive.  We can use the support, and it will be sooo much fun.

We are getting ready! Beach burgers, dogs, brats will be ready to start grilling about 5:30 ish on Saturday.  If you are concerned about the fog, just know that it has been lifting most days between 10-noon.  No guarantees, so do what you are comforatble with. Camping at the airport is $10. If you fly into San Luis Obispo I would highly recommend the San Luis Jet Center.  Their tie down fee is the same as the County's and the service is impeccable. They are huge supporters of Oceano Airport. They have a courtesy car too.  Hope to see lots of Mooney Tails at Oceano on Saturday.

That is funny Snoceano!  And that is Mitch and his airplane in the cartoon. It is fun that there are three airplanes [not Mooneys!] here already. Fun times ahead.

The Friends of Oceano Airport annual Fly-In Movie night was a huge success. Our weather was 72 degrees and sun sun sunny. It was VFR until well after midnight.

We had 30 plus airplanes and 100 attendees. It was so nice to see 20 tents in the campground.

The cook-your-own Beach Burgers and Dawgs was so much fun. Folks were able to get to know each other and visit while cooking the burgers and dawgs provided by the Friends of Oceano Airport [FOA]. All the food was on a donation basis.

The movies were a blast. The Kids of Oceano Airport [KOA] were in charge of the popcorn and sold their famous S'more kits.

We had folks fly in from Alaska, Bay Area, Kern Valley, Corona, Lompoc, Santa Maria, San Luis, Paso Robles Van Nuys and Fresno. [sorry if I left anyone out!].

The FOA is a proud chapter of the California Pilots Association. We are very excited to now be on the board of directors. Please mark your calendars for October 20-21 for a fun weekend at Mojave.
