Glen Davis Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I have a 1989 M20J with the IO360. I have attached two photos showing the bracket the propeller control cable is attached to in the engine compartment. One end of this cable goes to the prop governor and the other end goes inside the cabin compartment. One photo is the entire bracket. The other photo is a close up of the same bracket showing a notch that was cut into the bracket by a cable rubbing on it for a long time, almost severing it in half. The bracket is now severely compromised. I am hoping someone can help me with the part number AND a source for a replacement bracket. Thank you. Quote
EricJ Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I responded on FB. The IPC is available here and elsewhere or online and is good to have for things like this. Quote
redbaron1982 Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 It looks like PN 660199-001 or 660235-001, depending on which engine you have (dual or single mags). https://lasar.com/control-cables/prop-governor-control-cable-bracket-660199-001 https://baspartsales.com/660199-001-mooney-m20j-propeller-governor-support-bracket As @EricJ is a good idea to have the IPC and get familiar on how to search through it. N201MKTurbo Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 If you were a CB with rivet skills, you could make a doubler and drop a few rivets in. 2 Quote

PT20J Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 Looks to me like an IO-360-A3B6 engine with the bracket for a -A3B6D engine. Probably why there was interference. Quote

That's why it looked weird to me, because it does look like that. The mag that is partially visible doesn't look like the dual mag, but the bracket does look like the dual mag bracket. 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I don’t have that bracket, but if I did, I would turn it over so the cable could pass through the arch in the bracket. Quote
EricJ Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 Here's my A3B6D bracket on my old governor after removal after it ate itself. I took a few pics to document how the bracket was clocked on the governor, but this does not appear to be the same bracket as in the pic above. Something is a little odd if it is neither the correct mag or the correct bracket. Quote

Tks I know it is confusing but actually when folks talk about a Dual Mag it is a single box that has 2 mags inside it driven by 1 shaft if you have 2 mags, each driven by a different shaft, then you actually have 2 Mags (and not a Dual Mag) Quote

This look like a homemade bracket. EricJ has a picture of the bracket for the dual mag, and this is what it should look like for 2 mags: 1 Quote
