Marc_B Posted Thursday at 09:07 PM Report Posted Thursday at 09:07 PM I keep thinking that Don Maxwell or some other Mooney shop used to do this and I've seen that Beech does something similar... Does anyone offer an owner's maintenance workshop going though Mooney systems, standard owner maintenance items, and walking though a standard annual inspection? If not, any change of adding something like this to MooneyMax or Summit? Quote
201Mooniac Posted Thursday at 09:29 PM Report Posted Thursday at 09:29 PM You might be thinking of the clinics that Jerry Manthey used to do. He stopped doing them years ago. Very helpful information. 2 1 Quote

There are some regular webinars like "Pro Tips for Maintenance" that often cover topics like that, and you can usually get Wings credit for attending. They won't be Mooney specific, but they're usually very informative for stuff like that. 1 Quote
Marc_B Posted Thursday at 10:40 PM Author Report Posted Thursday at 10:40 PM @EricJ I've tuned in for a couple of those; sometimes they seem geared more towards A&Ps, but usually there are a couple of good pearls in there regardless. I think that what I had in mind was what @201Mooniac was describing with MAPA and Manthey. Not sure if anyone has carried on the torch for this? Seems like with MAPA in the wind, that either the MAPASF, Summit or DMax would be the groups with the best path forward... 1 Quote
Paul Thomas Posted Thursday at 11:44 PM Report Posted Thursday at 11:44 PM I would be interested in attending such an event. I would like to see that done in a hangar, with a Mooney opened up for inspection so that we can really look at things. When a friend was shopping for a Bonanza, we went to a Bonanza shop to be educated. The owner walked us around to airplanes at his shop to show us various things to look at prior to sending an airplane to inspection. It was time and money well spent. 1 Quote
Scottknoll Posted Friday at 12:53 AM Report Posted Friday at 12:53 AM Count me in as well. I’ve read about the bonanza workshops and would love to attend a Mooney maintenance workshop. Quote

I made one of his last ones. The MAPASF includes a fair amount of maintenance information at the PPP, but it varies from year to year. Once upon a time, at an airshow (Wings Over North Georgia, at Rome), Joey Cole had a to-do at his hangar, with a tour of "open" planes with opportunities for questions. He's not in Rome anymore, moved to KDNN a few years ago . . . . Maybe someone could talk to an MSC and arrange a half-day conclave like this? 1 Quote
