Meshach Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 After a few years of hand flying, I’d like to see if I can get the PC to work. But I’m missing the piece that goes in the yoke. The rest of the system seems intact. IIUC, without the valve, the system cannot work. Does anyone know where I could get that little piece/button that goes in the yoke. 1970 F. Quote
takair Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 Check eBay, perhaps for an entire yoke. Perhaps @Alan Fox has one. Alternately, you can retrofit with electric solenoid, but that is obviously more work. Quote
JoeM Posted December 31, 2024 Report Posted December 31, 2024 I prefer an on/off toggle switch so I used this one https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/togglevalve11-12168.php 2 Quote
AJ88V Posted December 31, 2024 Report Posted December 31, 2024 I like the button on the yoke. Becomes very automatic to press it while turning the plane and then releasing it to let the wing leveler reengage. Recommend looking for a Mooney yoke on eBay. Quote

Having the on/off toggle and a functioning yoke switch is really the best of both worlds. Turn the toggle on and the PC works normally. Turn it off and the airplane flies normally. Quote

I like it better than the old knob. It’s a switch on the dash and now I have a ppt on the yoke. 2 Quote
DCarlton Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 https://www.mcmaster.com/62475K14/ Another possibility. Not an aircraft part. 1 Quote
MarkC Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 I have one you might want and sent you a PM. Mark Quote
Echo Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 (edited) I have an actual Brittain PC disconnect valve I will sell. PM if interested and I can share photos. Ths is for panel NOT yoke button. It is a push pull. Edited January 3 by Echo Quote
Meshach Posted January 3 Author Report Posted January 3 I like the idea of a switch on the panel. I assume that’s a minor alteration that my A/P should have no problem doing? Quote

Echo Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 Brittain made and sold them as well as an electric solenoid to cancel p.c. An vintage Mooney with a Brittain system could have them. Most came OEM with yoke push button disconnect. I prefer to NOT hold the button while disengaging p.c. and wanted a push to talk button integrated in yoke so push pull was installed. The line for disconnect was pulled back through yoke and shaft. Drill a hole in panel. (I already had a hole where ram air cable was) I removed cable as I have a J cowl with no ram air on plane. Screw in push pull manual dump and attach line. Quote
Hank Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 Or keep the yoke button, and mount a Push-to-Talk like this . . . . Quote
hammdo Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 My old B had the push/pull switch vs yoke button… I changed yokes out on my C and may still have the button. Let me know and I’ll look for it… is for older style yokes. -Don Quote
