Having some vibrations that can’t be tracked down to an engine or airframe. During OH replaced governor with a brand new one and now RPM changes lag (sometimes overspeed and fluctuates in turbulence). Think I might want to check my prop since it was also leaking a bit, any recommendations for a good prop shop in LA area?

I've never dealt with them, but a friend has sent them 3 propellers and he was happy with their work. And I signed off the annual afterwards.

He put on engines that were in storage for a decade. He sent the props out for overhaul. One of the governors had a seized relief valve from sitting so long, so when he started the right engine it blew the prop apart. It was a sad sight.

Do not use SMO propeller.

Call Todd at American propeller in Redding. They have a driver that comes down once a week. Great service.

Variations are not great enough and very short for the oil pressure to reflect on the gauge

I used American in Redding as well and the driver service was efficient all the way up in Spokane Washington!

It was only a thought, gauges sometimes lag a great deal from being damped for protection. Prop pressure drops increase rpm’s but I’m probably speaking out of line without fully knowing the oil pressure path in your application.

I had mine resealed by Johnson Propeller in Shafter five years ago. They had a truck that came by my AP/IA's hangar, picked it up, then dropped it off.

Well, you cannot believe everything you hear.

I have never used them. A friend who likes to flip planes, used them all the time and he liked them. Their props always seemed to work fine.
