  1. Torque spec is cast directly into the rim flange. Yes, stop nuts
  2. Induction leaks happen at the updraft tube to cylinder connection. The tube lip is held onto the gasket with the aluminum tube clamp. This clamp becomes bowed closer to the cylinder at the studs and further away across the midsection. The fix is new never installed clamps with new gaskets then careful tightening method. Updraft tube connector hose leaks are more obvious if there’s a problem and usually only needs a slight hose clamp tightening.
  3. If left & right flaps appear in good alignment then they weren’t beforehand. This makes a good candidate for complete rigging verification. Who knows, you might experience some new found efficiencies and handling characteristics.
  4. It was only a thought, gauges sometimes lag a great deal from being damped for protection. Prop pressure drops increase rpm’s but I’m probably speaking out of line without fully knowing the oil pressure path in your application.
  5. Oil pressure stabilized during episodes?
  6. Remove the interior door panel and see how the in / out levers connect. You’ll see the problem
  7. Be careful and set up switches so you can’t crank with the non-impulse mag “hot”.
  8. Two rivets vs three doesn’t matter if yours calls for two, just not the other way around.
  9. I believe that removing the right side elevator bungee and pushrod from the elevator (support elevator) , then moving them to the left allows one hand and two wrenches in there. One ratchet wrench and one combo.
  10. Not only that you’ll find that most airframe parts were hand finished in place, meaning part holes from another plane will not match yours. It takes some mold and drill guide fabrication to fit new or used parts.
  11. Perhaps you have one of two pulled from ‘62 assembly line and fitted with ’63 updates for fitment checks then moved along with’63 yr model. Just a guess on my end
  12. Use extreme caution relying upon sellers part numbers. Attempt verifying with a/c serial number of donor a/c with yours. Even then measure everything. I have more than enough mistakes ready to resell.
  13. Think I would start with what you suspect and check front wheel bearing end play. while you’re at it check for steering / suspension play and tire pressure.
  14. Is that outlet even connected with master switch off?
  15. Insulation for three reasons. Reduce avionics heat from solar load, noise vibration dampening and reduce chance of condensation raining down into all things electrical. When you replace it avoid anything with foil backing.
  16. Received a tip from another member Jsno , sorry not sure how to link a member, anyway I purchased from (Aircraft Door Seals LLC.) and it appears to mimic the O.E. Shape “V”. Haven’t yet installed but looks like it will work well, again haven’t installed yet.
  17. You can remove the rubber grommet and send this down for a better view.
  18. Search eBay; zerk 6-40 unf Alemite #3018 6-40 UNF-2A usual broken one
  19. BAS Parts Sales has what you need except money, time and patience.
  20. Mine also, found that time and uneven pressure applied by that clamp caused the aluminum head assembly to bend. It then became impossible to seal the glass to the head.
  21. I use MACs, outside 100% sunny San Diego. On my second one in 12 years or so and still going strong. Half the cost of Bruce’s
