Starting a new thread to avoid splitting it.

Yesterday I put the gear in the up position and instead of it coming up I got the red unsafe light and the gear horn was going off. Never heard it on take off before. Talked to Maxwell who said its likely my donuts and the squat switch not releasing. But the service manual and the wiring diagram don't show this. They show the horn going through only the throttle switch. But apparently if you try to raise the gear on the ground you'll get the gear warning horn.

I was able to cycle the switch and the gear came up. Once up the gear horn silenced. Who'd have thunk?

Sure you don't have the airspeed safety switch, rather than squat switch. Its standard behavior for the airspeed safety switch if it doesn't think you have sufficient airspeed.

I’ve been doing annuals on this plane for 20 years. I don’t think I’d miss it. I do exercise and lube the squat switch in the gear well

That makes sense. Just don’t know why I don’t see it on the electrical schematic.

I just went through the 1970 M20F schematic and can confirm the circuit is behaving as it should if the squat or airspeed switch is active (yes, I'm an EE)

Part of the confusion may be the fact the relevant portions of the schematic are on two separate pages in the MMM.

I think you’re right, I seem to remember the horn when doing retract test on jacks.
