pkofman Posted November 3, 2022 Report Posted November 3, 2022 My 297 altitude preselect is on the fritz again... I just replaced it two years ago can anyone here please direct me to a supply / resource / replacement source. I find it to be a critical piece of my panel ( m20m Bravo ) and it is not working correctly! help and assistance appreciated. secondary question. if the 297 is not working , would that stop the autopilot from completing its test cycle when I press the trim button. Without the completion of the trim cycle button test the a/p wont engage. This is intermittent and started when I started having issues with the 297b. I dont know if the 297b is independent from the a/p and or if it would cause the test cycle to fail on the test cycle which would cause the test cycle to fail im sure someone here will know the answer , I included a panel shot where you can see the black screen on the 297b which is an intermittent but problematic Thank you Peter Quote
LANCECASPER Posted November 3, 2022 Report Posted November 3, 2022 You got some answers regarding repairing or replacing it when you posted about the 297B a few days ago: @Jake@BevanAviation will know if a bad 297B will cause the KFC150 to not pass its pre-flight test. Quote
carusoam Posted November 4, 2022 Report Posted November 4, 2022 For pre-flown parts like this… @Alan Fox often has them on the shelf… Best regards, -a- Quote
PT20J Posted November 4, 2022 Report Posted November 4, 2022 If Bevan can’t fix it, I’d try Mid-Continent. Quote
Pinecone Posted November 4, 2022 Report Posted November 4, 2022 Also try Larry at Sarasota Avionics (Sarasota location). He worked on them at the factory for many years. 1 Quote
