I'm currently under contract on a 67 F model.  As part of the prebuy, the mechanic found that SB 208B was never completed over the past few decades.  There isn't any evidence of corrosion, but I'm wondering how much of a red flag this is, and/or how much the cost to replace all the fiberglass insulation would run?

To me, it's more of a yellow flag.  Not a show stopper, but how well was the plane being maintained if this SB was missed?  Are there other SB's and routine maintenance items that were missed or was this just a single oversight?

just remove it from behind the sidewalls and just some insulating closed cel foam in there

Refresh the interior while you're at it. I'm on month 3 and counting...

There was another SB, M20-217 that was also missed.  Beyond that it seems relatively well maintained, and appears to have spent its entire life in dry climates.  Sounds like not a huge deal given there aren't signs of corrosion?

It’s possible the rear spar is not cracked (M20-217).  There’s a ‘64D/C that I know of that isn’t cracked.  I didn’t think mine was cracked, until I pumped the flaps all the way down putting pressure on the rear spar.  The crack appeared.

Sabremech cut an access panel in the baggage floor and was able to install the beef up plate with out removing the baggage floor.  His skills are way above average though, in my opinion.

Good luck with your search.

For the tubing.  Check for leaks around windows.   Inspect the back side of the tubing at all joints.   If no evidence of rust. then it is an SB not an AD.    The AD list walk through should be looked at very closely....
