Hello MS,

Before I start posting up with questions, let me introduce myself.

My name is Dan Hillsberry and I am shopping for a Mooney. I figured that joining MS would be a smart decision and so here I am.

Me

  • 41 year old aerospace engineer
  • PPL in 2012, TT 85 hrs in PA28-181
  • Married, empty nester
  • From Boise, ID (all flight time was there) but live in Jacksonville, FL
  • Mooney fan since 2005, been researching and planning since then

Cheers!

Welcome to MS.   Florida is a popular place for Mooneys;  you won't have any trouble finding people to talk about Mooneys with.

This web site has been around for quite awhile and virtually every question has been cussed and discussed many times, so use the search function to read what's already been written.  Sometimes it's better to use a Google search than the MS search function.

The low wing piper should make for an easy transition.

Good luck with your Mooney experience!

Gus

Welcome aboard Dan. I’m Hector, also an Aerospace Engineer, and also in Jacksonville. I own a C model which I keep in my hangar at Herlong Airport. Several more Mooneys there including E, F, J, Acclaim. Be glad to help with any questions.

Welcome aboard Dan…

Find your friends’ introductions here as well….

Also find the Florida Mooney Group… a strong Mooney organization with monthly fly-ins, pre pandemic…

Best regards,

-a-

Welcome Dan,

Regional support here. I am based at KSSI St Simons. There are 5 on Field here, J's and K's. With Rockets and C's at the neighboring Brunswick airport.  Reach out if you come up for a $100 hamburger, or come see us every Saturday and Sunday morning at our local EAA Chapter 905 clubhouse right on the ramp to drink coffee and tell exhilarating stories of flight.  :D

Hi Hector,

Nice to meet you. Would you be willing to let me come sit in your C? I have only ever been in a J.
