My glareshield is cracked up and busted.  I'm on the lookout for a high quality replacement.

Is it at least in one piece?

The best solution is to send it to AeroComfort in San Antonio, TX. Hector, who's famous for the beautiful leather wrapped yokes many of us have, will fix it up for you. He'll strengthen it, epoxy the cracks back together, and generally put it back together. Then he'll wrap it in leather over some thin padding. When you get it back, it will be better than when new from Mooney.

I just had mine done for my 252.

Very familiar with Hector, but whoever worked on the glareshield before my ownership broke multiple pieces of the plastic and the internal lighting doesn't all work correctly, with multiple parts missing.  I have the replacement lighting hardware but it will very likely break further trying to install them.  I don't think Hector can help with that.  I don't want to put lipstick on a broken glareshield, I think I need a new one before it goes to Hector unless someone knows of a plastic glareshield artist who can fix mine to better-than-new condition.

I think you may be under estimating the capabilities...

Judge for yourself...

It’s possible you prefer to not discuss the economics of what you are seeking...

The underpinnings of most glare shields that have lived in the real world are similar to exhaust systems... they get overhauled starting at both ends... and magically look like they are brand new when finished...

The cool thing about having the original parts of the old glare shield...  there won’t be many questions about what you are replacing...

Take a look at Niko’s post above...

When people are discussing the details of what they are trying to get done...

A pic is worth 1000 words...

Often people that have difficulty knowing how to get something done.... post two pics...

1) What they have...

2) What they wan’t, from something similar... another plane, a boat, a car... a corporate jet...

https://aerocomfort.com/corporate-2/

Kind of takes the magic out of it doesn’t it..?

I think the key words may be...

Hector, I’d like a new glare shield for my forever-plane...  what can you do for me?

Doesn’t sound you like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place...

:)

Best regards,
