I'm considering a Mooney down by Boca Raton.  I'm a bit concerned about a plane that looks like it's spent some time on a coastal Florida ramp, but the price is decent as is the spec-sheet.  I'd like to hire a Mooney mechanic to go out to the field and do an onsite assessment to tell me if the thing's worth making an offer on and pulling in for a proper pre-buy.  However, Florida seems to be lacking for decent Mooney shops.  Any leads on honest, reputable Mooney guys in the area/region would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Ashe

PJ is great but often busy at remote site. Suggest Steve Craft's South Florida Aviation Services LLC FRP, Flies his E-Mooney to your site for one-day service, also less cost than PJ. Call Steve at 772 341 8788 e mail swc5827@yahoo.com.

I'm based out of Boca and used Eddie Roberts (561-633-6147) for my pre-buy. I highly recommend him as he's a Mooney expert.

Phil Jimenez did my annual a year ago and also comes recommended. You'll have no shortage of qualified Mooney experts.

As for a flight instructor, my partner is a CFII and has been flying Mooney's for 40 years and conducts Mooney checkouts. Send me a PM if you want more information on him.

That's a debatable statement in Florida. :(

Phil is great and I have heard good things about Eddie (no firsthand experience). Other than that, most of Florida "Mooney A&Ps" are a bunch of self-proclaimed Mooney experts.

I meant that there is no shortage given the names that were mentioned in this thread.

Research them ALL, my friends, even those mentioned here. I've seen some shops suggested that I wouldn't send a wayward NJ dentist to. ;)
