I just installed a JPI 830 with all the options and flew a 1000 mile trip to Florida this week. I would recommend it for it's range of data and ease of installation.

I was able to true out at approx 155 kn at 9.3 g/h.

Oh, how did we ever survive flight without the fancy gadgets in the panel. Tongue out

Until you can get the engine montior, find a CFI that has been around the block more than a few times and has experience in Turbo's.  I learned in the early 90's how to properly lean an engine for various type of operations without a fancy engine monitor and still use those techniques today (can't explain it over the internet though).  Even after you get one installed, you'll need help to decipher the ton of information now available at your finger tips.  Over analysis can be a bad thing as well.

P.S. I just had a UBG-16 and FP-5L installed and it helps a great deal.

Do you have your 930 in now?  Also thanks for the guide lines to fly until the monitor, I am leaning toward 930 because the engine is expensive and the alarms seem like a good idea and clean up a few things in the dash because its certified.

How did you guys with the 830 mount the fuel flow transducer ?

Instead of the primary ?

Simply in line ?

Hooked the instrument to the primary sensor ?

I think I prefer the MVP50 - or the AuRACLE from Flightline. They have much of the same functionality of the 930 and are all close in price, but they are smaller and lighter.  I could be convinced otherwise, of course, but I am currently leaning away from the 930.
