Well another high Sierra flyin and stol race wrapped up on Sunday with the biggest turnout in ten years.500 aircraft and 1500 folks (reported not official)braving high dusty winds and cold frosty mornings out on Dead Cow lake playa (Flanigan lake).Competion was very close now that Draco was out of action.I saw one at least one Mooney flyin.

This Maule was purchased by a fellow who hadn’t started flight training.He now has 80 or so hours but stated he had trouble finding a DPE to flight test him in the Maule

I talked to him ,and he was trying to figure that out...not visible in photo ,but he got the prop also...he was concerned if he had Insurence because ,dead cow is not a recognized runway like the one at burning man

One of the paramoters Pilots was having control issues attempting to foot launch.His chute kept collapsing.He finally hooked in with back injury’s.Organizer had onsight emt on sight and he was medivaced to Reno with in 20 min

Well it is called Dead Cow lake...I guess they forgot to check if there was water
