Easab Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 I have a 74 mooney m20c with the old looking white yokes but would like to upgrade to the m20j black bigger yokes. Question is are they interchangeable?? Quote
RLCarter Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Yes, search the site for what is involved along with part numbers Quote
DXB Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 I you need new shafts and yokes.Mooney used to sell an upgrade kit. The info is around here somewhere... Quote
carusoam Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Welcome aboard, Easab. The yoke systems are interchangeable... It becomes how much are you willing to pay to get that done... Finding the hardware is doable... And getting them wrapped in leather would be the easy part... Expect to have to find the new larger shafts with the newer yokes and all the hardware that attaches and supports them... We have a few people around here that are in the used equipment business, if you want to pursue the project... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a- Quote
gsxrpilot Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Here's what nice yokes look like in an M20C. Here's what you do... You'll need new shafts. Buy from Mooney through your favorite MSC. Expect to pay approximately $700 each. And wait about 6 weeks for them to be produced. Find suitable yokes. These are often available on eBay, Barnstormers, or one of the well known salvage dealers such as @Alan Fox. Send the yokes to AeroComfort in San Antonio for leather covering and stitching. $800 to $1000 for the pair. Get it all installed and wired up by your local A&P or Avionics shop. $500 to $1000. Once it's done and the money is spent... you'll know it was worth every penny. 1 Quote

Hector Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 You can also just buy aftermarket yokes. I don’t have these but a friend has them in his F model and I like them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
