Garmin keeps bumping the F from the STC list for the GFC-500. If we all reach out to Garmin, can we get their attention?

Even if you’re driving an F and are holding out for the GFC-500, your voice should be heard.

Reply here if you’re one of us!

I am in on this thread!  I will agree to write the letter to Garmin and reach out to them.  If you are an M20F owner with a Garmin G5 or considering Dual G5's and planning on a GFC 500 installation, please either post here or via PM your N-number, Serial Number, Current G5 status (1/2 or none), and plan for A/P.  I will draft an email for all of us to approve of and get the ball rolling on this STC.  You sign up and I'll do the work!

The next set of mooneys garmin is certifying is literally the rest of the M20 Series, from the basic original M20 to the 20A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Change the title and get all the vintage mooneys instead of just the F models. You want as many Vintage Mooneys as possible. not just F models.

I am in. I rather have a face to face then write a letter. This whole approval with paper is getting really old. I fully understand the depths of covering ones ass for liability but the technology that is being used is far better than how these tin cans were built. I have everything in and waiting. 2 G5s and all needed wiring.

N768CC / 22-1352 and currently have dual G5's.  I would be #1 on an install if they would let me.  I am still sooooooo confused why they did not do it with the J.  Don't they know there is virtually no difference in the F, G, J (and K to an extent) in length width flight controls and that the only real difference is in aerodynamic modifications (I had emailed them this fact a couple times around a year ago when we were hoping they would get it done).

I am definitely interested.  If they don’t drag me out forever like Trutrak has, I will probably do it.

I was over about 150 miles or more of solid overcast last week when I lost vacuum.  I had over four hours fuel and was pretty sure of clear skies at my destination, so I never felt in danger, but it definitely made me think.  The G5’s being a necessary part of the autopilot expense makes me justify the rest of the money.

Put me down as a probably, but if they drag their feet and a miracle occurs in the form of Trutrak getting their STC before Garmin, I may go Trutrak even with the G5’s already installed.

There was a difference in Js that resulted in them having to redesign one of the servo brackets, so if there’s differences within the same model, I’m sure there are other differences between models.

I had the G5's installed last week waiting on GFC500 to be my next step, I don't like to go to truetrak if GFC500 is available for sure.

'67 M20F - N3292F and will have two G5s installed with my xpdr and engine analyzer installation coming up next month.

I am definitely interested in the GFC500 and I'm planning on moving ahead with that one as soon as it is certified.

waiting to cut a new panel until I am ready to replace the JPI 700 with a 900 and add the GFC500 so I can dump the VAC.

The spot above my audio panel is a cutout specifically for the GFC-500.

64 M20c, dual G5’s, GTN650, 345r, GAD29b, GmU11, FS210, just trying to hold out for the GFC500. I  already submitted a request into Garmin via their website. It may be  a good idea for everyone here to do the same,. I would expect Garmin to STC most if not all of the short bodies at the same time, tbd.
