Sauduster Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 Hello All, Previous C owner. Wish didn’t sell her but I have come to my senses and am looking for a replacement. Tell me why I should not consider a B model??? With some basic research, all I discovered was that maybe the useful load is about 100-125 lbs. less. What other concerns might there be specific to this model and not in general like corrosion, leaking fuel tanks etc. thank you in advance for any insight. Bob Quote
MBDiagMan Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 As long as it is corrosion free and you are good with the reduced useful load, it should be a good choice. There is a B not far from me that flew in one day and I met him. If he hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known that it was a B. A very nice airplane. That said, I wouldn’t be searching out a B, but if I was in the market and found a good one, I would be good with it. Quote
carusoam Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 More screws, less 1/4 turn fasteners... short rudder, less rudder throw... Funky fuel separator, not the 65C modernish one... Nothing bad with an M20B... just not as modern as a later M20C... Best regards, -a- Quote
kerry Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 B has mechanical Flaps. Don't have to worry about hydraulic problems. 2 Quote

MikeOH Posted April 3, 2019 Report Posted April 3, 2019 Many happy hours renting a B...love the manual flaps (NO hydraulics!) Lower useful load is the only downside, IMHO. Quote
Kmac Posted April 4, 2019 Report Posted April 4, 2019 This one just sold on Barnstormers. If I was looking I would have jumped on that over a lot of C models. https://www.barnstormers.com/Mooney, M20B Classifieds.htm Quote
