Thanks for any input.

I had mine covered in leather and it's really, really worth the cost - for me. Apart from looking very good, they're also very comfortable, fits nice in the hand because they've got a bit more body and they give a good grip. Sweaty palms are no problem anymore.

Now that just was not helpful at all.  LOL

I would love to have them done in leather and I even have the permission from my better half, but we just got smacked with a mag overhaul, exhaust repair, put on new lord mounts, cleaned injectors, hmmmmmmm am I missing anything??  Perhaps I need to twist the prism a bit and just justify that since I already put this much money into it this month, what's the difference!!

Okay, but if I do decide to powder coat, what do you all think would look better in the interior, glossy or flat?

Leather would be my choice but powder coating is a close 2nd. Personally I like gloss but that is an individual decision. Anything that is not powder coated will probably oxidize due to the salt from one's hand which is typically what causes the problem.

I vote for leather.  I had my prior Mooney yokes powder coated in black heavy crinkle finish, and they looked great - and matched lots of other "stuff" I had powder coated at the same time.  The price was reasonable, but for my "new" Mooney, I had Tim Thallock cover my yokes in leather to match the new interior. Not inexpensive,(understatement),  but really feels wonderful in the hands. He is making me up new centers with the red ,black, silver new Mooney logo. Photo can be found in the Gallery - Bennett's photos.

leather also but that said powder coat in any color but white (they get too grimylooking)...besides it doesnt matter if you are paying any significant dough to powder coat than save your dough, bead blast them your self and coat em with truck bed compound...than get um leather wrapped when you can afford 300 per yoke..kp couch

Thank you to all that have given an opinion!!  After much thought I decided that it was more cost effective to just do the yokes in the leather now as opposed to having to take them off again at a later date. Leather is what I ultimately wanted so they are on their way to see Pablo at Aero Comfort. Can't wait to get them back and installed.

Thanks again everybody!!

You'll love them Brett.  They do a great job and after you've paid for it, you'll like them enough you won't think about what you paid again.  The great finished leather they do really dresses up the cockpit.

I finally made it home to see how the yokes look in the airplane!!  I was going to fly the airplane to work today but found that my trim switch was not working in the down position so I am going to leave it with the shop to fix that, but I took it for a spin around the patch this morning and all I can say is WOW.  I just love the way the yoke feels with the leather on them.  Thank you guys so much for influencing me to get them.  And those of you that said I won't regret spending the money were absolutely correct.  I love them.  Thank you!!

I also had my injectors cleaned and new lord mounts installed.  What a difference in the smoothness of the airplane!!!  And combined with the yokes.........................Man I can't wait to go fly this thing again.  Oh well, gonna have to fly the Honda Civic to Wilmington again.  Off to West Palm Beach then Bar Harbor, ME for a week.  I guess I'll have to settle for flying the Falcon until I return home from work.  :-(

Thanks again guys!!
