Boilermonkey Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 So, this happened on run-up today. Where can we (me & A&P) get the parts for repair? Or, do my A&P need to send it out for repair ;-( Quote
Hank Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 Can't see your picture . . . Mine broke three years ago, it was fixed up and welded back together. Couldn't understand why my climb rate sucked leaving NC mountains or where my cruise speed went . . . . . It just doesn't run well with carb neat fully open all the time! I'll see if I can find a picture for you. Quote
jamesm Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 I recall correctly I think I got new bushing from LASAR probably about 8 years ago. James '67C Quote

Andy95W Posted September 29, 2018 Report Posted September 29, 2018 Call Dan in the LASAR parts department. Email him your picture and he'll send you the right part. If you have time to wait, they can probably repair yours. Quote

It's not pretty, but it's functional. Put in a new cable, too. Twas a pricey annual (failure happened three weeks before it started, giving me time to d!ck around with it and figure out why I had little climb and no speed . . . . ). Quote
Jim Peace Posted September 29, 2018 Report Posted September 29, 2018 I bought two carb heat boxes recently from mooneyspacers.....probably a good idea to keep one or two in stock... 1 Quote
Boilermonkey Posted October 5, 2018 Author Report Posted October 5, 2018 Lasar's out of stock. Any other ideas. Quote
orionflt Posted October 5, 2018 Report Posted October 5, 2018 You can pull it apart and have it welded Brian 1 Quote

carusoam Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 +1 Really important to have working properly... Mine broke the control wire... stress, fatigue and corrosion... the wire , not me... Good luck with sourcing the parts... Best regards, -a- Quote
DXB Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 Mooney had the part in stock when mine broke. Also I bet McFarlane will make one for you Quote

Some of the parts for our 1962 M20C are near impossible to find...otherwise there's going to be a lot of minor/major forms that we'll need to start filing. 1 Quote
