bonal Posted August 15, 2018 Author Report Posted August 15, 2018 Just wanted to bump the thread lots of views but not too many entries. I know there are lots of outstanding Mooneys out there hopefully more will post some inspiring photos as I want this to be a very special painting. Thanks Bonal Quote
gsxrpilot Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 I really don't think I can even qualify with so many great Mooney pictures in this thread. But she's beautiful to me... Sitting on the ramp in Churchill Manitoba after getting us safely across hundreds of miles of tundra out of range of radar and radio. My beautiful co-pilot and our fur-kid hiding in the shade. 6 Quote
Hank Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 I'm kind of partial to these "action" shots: But for pure background scenery [despite the canopy cover], I like this one: 6 Quote
kris_adams Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 Something a little different. If neither of mine make it, I'd be interested in buying one as well. Of course I wish the doors were closed in the second pic. -Kris 3 Quote
kris_adams Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 and my profile pic of course! 2 Quote
bonal Posted August 21, 2018 Author Report Posted August 21, 2018 So it's been two weeks and I have a tough choice to make. I am going to extend this to the end of the week in hopes of getting some more entries to make it even harder on myself to choose the winning entry. So for those of you that would like having an original painting of your Mooney if you haven't sent in please do so soon as I am going to pick the winner at the end of this week. Bonal Quote

steingar Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 Can't think of a better locale for an airplane painting than the Show. Of course, being one of North America's foremost Origami artists, and being married to a professional calligrapher and outstanding knitter I have the capacity to reciprocate in a unique manner. 1 Quote
mike_elliott Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 And if your pic doesn't win, John is also donating a commission of a painting of your plane at the Mooney Summit VI's silent auction! Thanks John for your generosity. Some lucky Mooney owner will have a really nice painting! 4 Quote

Hank Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 One last entry. This series looks good, especially the colors in the last one, but the plane is kind of small. Note the bright LED beacon blinking in the second photo . . . Night flight is so peaceful. The sunset over E. KY that evening was pretty good, too. 1 Quote
bonal Posted August 23, 2018 Author Report Posted August 23, 2018 The nice thing about a painting is I can take that beautiful sky and make the airplane much larger. 2 Quote

MooneyTunes Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) I would love a portrait of the old girl adorning my empty hangar wall. Edited August 23, 2018 by MooneyTunes 2 Quote
jonhop Posted August 24, 2018 Report Posted August 24, 2018 My wife just gave this to me for my 50th birthday last weekend, so I don't need one. The artist even manged to get my face into the window. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures that you can use if you so desire... 2 Quote
