Two men walk into a bar...

The third man performs a go-around...

Struggling aviation type humor. :)

Best regards,

-a-

Some of us aviators struggle more than others . . . . . .

The credit goes to the previous owner of N22VA, who showed it to the pilot who showed it me when we went up to do the in flight pre-buy.

Take the wing leveler button and pry it out of the yoke about a quarter inch. It breaks the suction and, viola! No fighting the wing leveler. Push it back in, and it works like new! I'll post a pic or two, next time I go fly.

Be careful, so you don't pop the button completely off.

And I thought there was a joke here some where?:(

Professional comedians have nothing to worry about :o

2 MSrs walk into the FBO.  They are told they are the 1,000,000th person through the doors and you have your choice of one of the following grand prizes.

  1. A beautiful woman
  2. A brand new SR22
  3. A brand new Piper Arrow
  4. A brand new C182
  5. A 67 M20F with classic avionics and original paint and interior and 2400SMOH

So what do they choose?

dink, DINK, dink dink dah

OK it is supposed to be jeopardy music during final jeopardy.

That's been around for at least the 20+ years I've been flying Mooneys. I assumed any good Mooney transition instructor would show it to you. The other way to accomplish this is to put a piece of Velcro® around the button to keep it in the whole time. Many of these airplanes didn't originally have PTT on the yoke and have a PTT there with Velcro® anyway so your ready to go with nothing else. Use the Velco® for take-offs and landings and while in the pattern then take it off for cruise flight.

I keep my yoke button in the ash tray...   See.... Ashtrays do a have a use in modern aviation!!

I replaced mine with an ash light from Spruce--4 little red LEDs. works great at night.

As for the PC button, I just about never use it. The extra resistance reminds me to not bank steeply in the pattern. I even usually remember to turn off the AccuFlite while approaching the airport, as it's disconcerting for it to try and send me away from the downwind leg . . .

Before I converted to an STEC A/P on my first M20E, I used the PC button as designed: pushed it in to bank, release it to level the wings. I'm not sure why anyone would disable a great system unless it was broke. I'm curious. (Even if the PTT is also a left thumb device, in the relatively rare case that I'm transmitting while banking it is no big strain to overpower the PC servo.)

Makes sense once you're used to flying it. For a newbie like me, I ended up fighting the PC most of the day. :D

When  I first bought my C, I used the PC button when practicing maneuvers and in the pattern. Over time, I've just stopped doing that and don't notice it any more. Leaving it on helps when turning on the AccuFlite, too, and I use it frequently.

Another easy way to keep it pressed in, since 35mm film cans are now hard to come by, is to use the fat rubber bands from broccoli bunches. Maybe that's why I don't bother with the button, I hate that stuff . . .

My C came with a switch on the panel to turn the PC system on and off. I still have the switch on the yoke to disable the PC if the switch on the panel is on. For takeoff and landings PC remains off. During cruise it is on.

Now there's a man using his head for more than just a hatrack!

Allowing 20AMU for fuel and 5 for annual, you'll fly free for 6-8 years depending on how close to retail you sell the C-thingy, too.
