Anyone have the install manual for the Aspen flush mounts?

Possibly. I have a flush mounted Aspen 1000 installed by an Avionics shop. The documentation is at my hangar office. It's quite involved, what do you need?

I need the dimensions that the hole for the display needs to be cut.

I'll see if that drawing is in the docs I have. I can also put calipers on my panel cutout.

You'll want to wait and get the drawings before you cut the panel. The size is very precise and further, there is a small notch cut out of the top center so that a clip can be depressed and the unit removed. Without the notch of the proper size, the only way to remove the unit for service would be to remove the entire panel.

@"Chocks" has the drawings for my install right now. Hopefully he can post them for you.

Mine are being recessed with this upgrade and I was told it requires precise cutting.

Can't wait to see your upgraded x2 panel.

Me too. When I posted the pictures, I forgot this is actually the third upgrade since late 2012. The second round was in 2013 when I had the center and right hand side rebuilt. The rebuilt left side will finally clean up a bunch of multiple hole cuts and degrading Naugahyde covering. When I stopped over at the shop, I was surprised to learn that my left panel is actually 2 panels stuck together. Not sure when that was done since the top layer is definitely factory original. I'll post a picture the next time I go there.

Are you changing the color of the panel this time? I'm not a fan of the black panels.

No, I'm staying with the all black. I debated about pulling the whole panel and painting it a lighter color. The evil eye I got from the Mrs. helped change that conversation. I've pushed the ADS meter has far I dare.

Ben runs a good shop. I've seen him ferry guys back and forth with his personal plane.

And what an equipped plane it is! I got a tour of it on Thursday when he showed me his EDI-500.
