MAPA speaks on supporting Mooney airplanes

" The loyalty of the Mooney airplane ownership base is very important now more than ever as we face the ever present skeptics.  It is important that Mooney owners show those who may be negative just why we fly the best of the best and why this little airplane from Kerrville, Texas has been around for more than 60 years."

Here is our opportunity, more than ever now, to do just what Trey has suggested.  This is exactly why we started The Mooney Ambassadors. To support the legendary Mooney airplane, and to promote General Aviation to the flying and non-flying public. 

We are putting together the 2011 Ambassador events calendar.  We are seeking additional Mooney lovers that wish to help by being public Ambassadors for Mooney airplanes and General Aviation at your airport day or air show, or any event like this you can fly you plane to in your neck of the woods. 

Ambassadors had a bang up initial first year with hundreds of participants all over the world, talking up Mooneys and General Aviation.  As we all are aware of the unfortunate situations with flying commercial air carries, this is a great opportunity for the advancement of General Aviation.  With that advancement, may come an new opportunity for the Mooney airplane with regards to new investors, production of the current line and possibly the creation of a new advanced Mooney airplane.

Craig Fuller at AOPA Summit 2010, spoke and wrote of what a positive effort the Mooney Ambassadors are making on behalf of General Aviation.  So, with our great pride of ownership, please join in and let's get to work this coming year by showing support for the Mooney airplane, promoting General Aviation, and having someplace wonderful to fly!

Mitch makes a good point.  Now that the "fly-in" season is winding down, think of where you would like to fly in your Mooney.  Perhaps a regional fly-in, AOPA/EAA event, airport day or display day.  Let either of us know and we can help you to put on an Ambassador display.  Many on this list have done so and report that it is very little work and lots of fun.

IMHO we can get out there and promote, or sit back and be passive.  I think most Mooney flyers by nature are action oriented.

I've started looking for events in the SE next year to spread the Mooney word. I noted that the Vidalia Onion Festival is having a big airshow, including the Blue Angels, so I'm trying to contact the organizers to see if we can set up a Mooney Ambassadors static display. I can't imagine a cooler way to spend the weekend, hanging out and showing off our planes and getting a free ticket to the Blue Angels.  I'll add this to the Ambassadors website if it comes to pass.
