So here's a challenging question:

Is there a website or an app that can quickly show GA airports in proximity to an address? Say you visit family somewhere for example. Can you enter their address and see what airports are nearby? Quickly and easily without jumping through hoops?

+1 for airnav.  It may be driven by the Airboss fuel program, but it is the only place I know how to link finding airports related to an unfamiliar location.

is there a function hidden in WingX or Foreflight for that?

Best regards,

I have no experience with WingX, however Foreflight does allow you to search by city by using the search bar at the top of the airports tab.  However, I don't believe that it has the ability to define any parameters.

I have always cross referenced google maps and Forefight on my phone.

The only catch is traffic flows.

I've found ForeFlight's supposed ability to do that pretty much useless. There have been a number of times I knew there was an airport in a city or town and FF came up with nothing.

You have this in Foreflight: Open Foreflight, go to map, touch the location you are going. An add to route dialog will come up. Touch the "airports" box. The closest airport will be shown at the top within a list of airports. Click on the airport you want and it will put a dot on the map to show where it is.

Thank you all for your responses! Airnav looks like it does what I needed all along! I use it as a reference but never knew it could do that!
