I searched and didn't find much, but my throttle friction lock doesn't....

My A&P and I took the end off, but couldn't determine exactly what the issue was in the 10 minutes we had this morning.  The service manual doesn't seem to have anything other than the complete assembly.

Are there any replaceable parts to refresh the lock?

Thanks,

Rod

Try making a ring from a piece of leather. Remove the throttle knob, remove the friction knob, slide the leather down the cable shaft, screw the friction knob back on, then the throttle knob. Tightening the friction knob pinches the leather ring on to the shaft.

It's the lowly push-pull setup, not a jet jockey quadrant

The leather washer bit is brilliant, I'll try that in the morn...

You have a button on the top of your throttle handle that my F doesn't have. What does the button do?

Sorry the picture wasn't very clear, I zoomed in on the label.

That's just a normal quadrant, where's the photo of the throttle quadrant with the hair tie to keep the RPMs from backing off?

Also you guys are fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Earlier today I posed this question to some of the folks at LASAR, and they didn't have an answer.

The only pictures I've seen of throttles with rubber bands or hair ties have all been "normal" push-pulls. The quadrant has a screw-in friction lock on the right side that does all three levers at once.

It's amazing, sometimes, the quality of response that how-to questions get around here. As long as it's mechanical or assembly related, and not a how-to type question!  :P
