I found this big red button behind the passenger side panel. I pushed the button and the wings didn't fall off nor did it launch the nukes... :)

I am told its a circuit breaker, but to what I can only guess its for the bus bar. So when would I have to use it?

Thanks

Neal

Does it stay in when you push it?

It is factory , It is the main breaker for the Alternator , I think...

Believe this to be true, plus it looks like a red "press-to-set" circuit breaker.

What does it feel like? Does it feel like one of your other circuit breakers on the panel or does it actually 'thunk' like a pushbutton?

Looks like GPS connector.

You could be on to something, looks like an antenna connection in the back. Maybe a power outlet of some sort for the GPS?

It seems to be a non-manually trippable C/B (can't pull it out to trip it). When it trips of course the red button comes out!

So, if this is behind the sidewall with the sidewall laying on it, then quite possibly the C/B won't be able to trip if it needs to!

The sidewall would be "resetting" it constantly?

Doesn't seem to be the best situation for safety.

Might be something to look into.

All,

Thanks for the replies. This CG makes sense as it seems pretty stout. I did push it but it didn't seem to do anything.

Yes that is a spare GPS connector the previous owner had a handheld and/or panel mount unit that used it. I didn't notice it before I took the picture then when I posted I was I'll be dammed there it is...

Cliffy,

There is a cut out on the side panel to allow the breaker to pop out and/or reset.

Thanks to all for the help.

My C has the same thing in the passenger kick panel. Has a little plastic trim ring with a hole in it. It's mentioned in the owners manual, and there's a note on the panel telling you where it is, but the wording is such that you still don't really expect it to be where it is.
