Avidyne IFD 540 - Sold

I was going to do some panel work to fit a second Avidyne IFD 540 where my Garmin 430W sits (I like my first IFD540 so much that I wanted another one right below it.) I went ahead an bought the AVIDYNE IFD540 new in the box, only to discover that all of the boxes behind my perceived extra panel space would require major surgery to move around. So I am going to replace my Garmin 430W with an Avidyne IFD440.

All of this to say that I have a brand new in the box Avidyne IFD540 for sale. New they list for $16995. I got a great deal on it and I'm just looking to get my money out of it. $10900 shipping included.

If you are sliding out a Garmin 530W it is literally a 10 minute job to replace it. You can slide in much newer technology that has wifi and bluetooth built in, new warranty, much easier interface, rubberbanding, touch screen, etc. Then under the supervision of an A & P you need to configure your menus the way you had them in the 530W so that the Avidyne talks to anything the 530W was talking to. The A & P needs to make a log book entry. This really is 30 min but should be an hour max. You can sell your Garmin 530W and recoup a lot of your cost. If you don't want to mess with selling your 530W I might be willing to take it in trade and sell it for you. PM or e-mail me for details.

If you buy the IFD 540 for a new install or need a tray and backplate to sell your Garmin 530W I have a brand new Garmin 530 tray and backplate for $300.
