Hi, Mike. If you are talking about the picture that Jose posted in post #23, that picture has nothing to do with the O&N mod. It is apparently the cap that Mooney is currently using on new production aircraft. As a practical matter, though, they both appear pretty flush to me.

I'm talking about the earlier pic which appears to be a surface mounted flange bolted to the top of the wing. the cap in post 23 is riveted and flush, and looks better and creates less drag.

I found a picture of the raised caps that were going to be part of the AD. Looks like some folks did install them. They just don't look right on a Mooney.
