Would be happy to Mike but according to Marauder I'd have to pull the power way back and fly LOP in order for you to keep up?
You got that right! Probably wouldn't hurt if you threw Mike a tow rope as well. BTW -- I am still waiting for the perfect ADS-B solution to materialize, i.e. A CHEAP ONE! Just having a hard time justifying this kind of money on a portable solution :( -- ESPECIALLY since I just updated my airplane expense spreadsheet. The good news is I flew 17 hours so far this month, the bad news is if Mrs. Marauder finds out how much it cost, I will become a portable disposable solution... :)

I think I will get the King KT74 drop in replacement for my old King transponder sometime this winter or next summer when reports start coming out from the early adopters as to how it is.  Its priced pretty well to for a certified transponder and during my last IFR cert they told me that my transponder will likely need to go by the next cert.

Haven't had mine coupled yet but let me tell you the traffic system itself SUCKS. It misses a lot of traffic I spot and often doesn't call it till after it has passed. I'm disappointed with it and seeing where ADS-B is going, I think it's a waste of money to be installing at this point. In the metro areas ADS-B traffic works 70% of the time and improving as more get ADSB out.

I beg to differ. I have it installed with the external antenna and it picks up just about everything (assuming their transponder is on). Just last night I was in an airport traffic area talking to another plane about my position and he said he saw us on his traffic system at 7:00 and 400 feet below. I looked at the ATD and it showed him exactly where he should have been and 400 above - spot on.

It surely looks nice ADS-B traffic on a tablet, but I would have a hard time looking at map text upside down. One advantage of the ATD-300 is the voice warning. Instead of looking at a tablet to assess traffic threats the ATD-300 gives you different voice warnings for traffic threats. This is handy when busy in IFR conditions, specially on approach. Another advantage is that it works in Canada, Bahamas and everywhere outside the US. ADS-B is useless outside the US. Even though I have mine connected to the G530 I find the LED display helpful specially on IFR approaches were the G530 display inhibit traffic display on approach mode.

The picture shows traffic in the pattern from inside the hangar.

He did this by choice. The app allows you to orient the map through track up, heading up or north up. Brett is just being a little aerobatic, flying upside down ;)

For a little bit more money I would go with the Garmin GDL-88 that provides WX, traffic and voice warnings. The Navworx only shows traffic on the G430/530.

Actually for owners of Aspen products, their solution will port directly to the MFD and feed the WiFi portable app as well. This is consistent with the Aspen ADS-B "future" offerings that are still in the certification and manufacturing scale-up process.

So two positive PIREPS one Bad PIREP.

Mike, do you the the antenna is in a note great area?

And if you are seriously thinking about getting rid of yours, since it works so well, we may have to talk.  I will take it for $3 and a ham sandwitch.  Seriously though, if you are looking to move it, do you think it's your setup and installation or the unit that doesn't work well?

Hmmn:

Haven't had that issue, but "Tina"s voice" at times is a little much. If you have the (near far) sw. in near position and traffic aircraft is

1000 ft.above or 1000 ft. below your aircraft, it will not read that traffic. This could be your issue or if using a portable antenna,

these are at times intermittent. Now if I could just get Tina's voice to mimic Sarah's voice on my AOA indicator "You are getting

slow now",

I would be happy.

Do any of the ADS-B projected on ipad solutions allow audible warnings?  I see no reason they could not....if they output the voice to the ipad speaker, then a plug in to the ipad can then be input by wire into ships audio - or to pilots headset by blue tooth. Has any Ap product done that?

Definitely needs it or including the iPad in an already busy scan sounds challenging to get the full picture...

I used it for assistance finding what ATC was pointing out....
