KSMooniac Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 All, I wanted to start a new thread to tally our attendance, and see if we can organize a get-together or two during the week. Please reply here, and I'll monitor/update the top post as folks reply and then we'll see what happens. Hopefully a bunch of us will make the Sunday Caravan BBQ, and then maybe we aim for a Wed +/- lunch or dinner gathering. Please list days attending, Caravan (yes/no), Sunday BBQ (yes/no), camping or lodging location. I wonder if we could all gather around the campsite for dinner, but I have no idea if we could get enough provisions to pull it off. Suggestions? Quote

mooneygirl Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 We stayed at a hotel in Mayville our first year. It was about 40 minutes. We kept passing all the fireworks stores. Finally stopped and loaded up. They are the best fireworks.... Quote

jezzie Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I'm here in Osh and the N 40 looks pretty good. Already a couple of parked planes with tents set up. They have cut the grass and marked all the soft spots with cones and tape. Grounds are looking good clean and fresh. Eldon Quote
KSMooniac Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Posted July 22, 2010 Thanks for the PIREP Eldon! Please do your anti-rain dance as best you can and keep the monsoons away so that we'll all get a nice, firm parking spot. Quote

scottfromiowa Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Heed Mitch's statement on taxi off of taxi-way hardball to grass. A prop strike happened to a fellow Mooney driver another year (I was attending the MAPA Mooney Maint. class)...The drops can appear slight, but taken with anything but a creep can ruin your day...Be slow and deliberate and have fun...I'd rather get stuck (going slow...lot's of help available) than have a prop strike and related nightmare...Don't forget those grass tie-down's too...note to get mine out as they are needed in Appleton too. conom06d Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I'm very jealous of you all haha! I was planning on going out there but finances just are not in order enough to go this year. Maybe I can join next year's adventures. Enjoy all and fly safely! Quote
