Joe Zuffoletto Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 I was poking around the Mooney.com website just now and discovered that they're using one of my in-flight videos to promote the Acclaim Type S! http://www.mooney.com/aircraft/acclaim-type-s/experience-the-acclaim/ Pretty cool, and I had no idea! 4 Quote
PMcClure Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) Cheaper than paying the wet lease rate I guess! I would be flattered if they were to use my plane for advertising. But isn't it more than a little tacky that they would use your video on their site without contacting you first? Not that they asked me. I have customers in Rocky Point and several sites south. Always wanted to fly down but don't have the juevos to do it. The direct route from Alabama puts me in rough and isolated territory and the safer route east through Texas is also isolated and much longer. Maybe one day! PS - great video by the way! 1964-M20E Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Time to copyright and get royalties:) tell them you want a new Mooney for using the video. 1 Quote
Jeff_S Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 I agree it's cool...but also agree that the least they could do is tell you about it. Of course, once you put something out on YouTube it's pretty much fair game for others to use unless you specifically try to protect it. Quote
Jeff_S Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Joe, I've got a question for you. Were you pretty loaded with gas during that takeoff, or was it extra hot that day? It just seemed like your ground roll took longer than I would have expected for a fire-breathing dragon such as the Acclaim S. I'm comparing it to what I experience with my O3. Admittedly I've got a few more horses to play with at ground level (before your turbo advantage kicks in) but I was just curious about that. Quote

Half tanks, two grown men on board, 85 degrees outside... and an uphill runway. I also bring the throttle forward gradually to avoid overboosting the turbos. I'm having the 310hp STC from Midwest Mooney installed this winter and that should shorten my takeoff rolls quite a bit. 3 Quote
kmyfm20s Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 At least they could give you a couple of coffee mugs and a T-shirt:) Awesome, I didn't know you could do the Midwest STC on the Acclaim. Should climb like crazy! Quote
Joe Zuffoletto Posted November 4, 2014 Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 Mooney came through with a very nice shirt, ball cap and microfiber cloth for my video, all emblazoned with the Mooney logo! 2 Quote
Marauder Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Mooney came through with a very nice shirt, ball cap and microfiber cloth for my video, all emblazoned with the Mooney logo! That works out to a 0.0003% commission rate. I think I could have gotten you better Quote
