Next Thursday 7/10 is Nancy and my 50th anniversary. We're going to be in Maine the week after that so we're considering flying in to KLCI Laconia NH to spend Thursday and Friday night in that area. (We spent our one whole weekend honeymoon at Winnipesaukee in '64. I suppose we won't get another waterfront cabin for $18.)

Any recommendations? For a B&B perhaps? Restaurants?

Congratulations!!!  I wish I had a good idea for you.

My great grandparents were fortunate enough to celebrate their 75th anniversary and my maternal grandparents are at 65 years, celebrating 66 in December.

I'm just glad I'm about to celebrate my third month of marriage - 50 years is a GREAT accomplishment, and something to aim for.

Again, congratulations.

Two years ago, I took my new bride for our Honeymoon, to the Mount Washington Hotel. We made a full non-radar instrument approach into Mount Washington Regional. Hiked her up & down Mt Washington. Romantic I am!

Dan -- sorry to hear about Donald. Never met him but did hear his name mentioned.

I recommend Cialas. Don't ask me how I know!

Congrats and have a great time!

Being the cheap bast$&dsnwe are, wouldn't two Popsicle sticks and a bit of duct tape work just as well but for a lot less money? ;)

Sure am glad I started this jolly thread... got so much useful advice... hey B26 where are all our MS experts now?

Bob, Bob, Bob -- we're only experts on our true love - our Mooneys. Prove it to you... If I asked you when your annual is due, you'll be able to tell me immediately. If I asked you when your wife's birthday is, you'd have to think about it a bit. Am I right? ;)

Congratulations on your anniversary. You made the right decision 50 years ago. Not many can say the same these days.

You may get a discount at the resort with your AARP card . I never got a discount except for prepaid funeral services.

Sorry, Bob. We're pilots, we know flying and planes and our jobs, not wimmen and ro-mance an stuff!! And seeing's how Mooneys are Texas planes, tain't too many of them or us spent a whole lotta time that far North. Personally, I think WV is too far North . . . as are all other places with regular annual snowfall.

Get a classy hotel, and find a restaurant you ate at the first time, preferably one with tablecloths and fabric napkins. Expect each entree to cost more than that honeymoon hotel room did each night. Then try for a couple or three hours to forget about your Mooney; it will still be there in the morning, and won't even be mad at you. Just taxi with care. :-)

Congratulations to Nancy.

She married a Mooney pilot!

Best regards,

-a-

Thanks! She didn't actually marry a pilot in 1964 but she did give him the first 2 hours of flight instruction and a couple of books on flying for Christmas in 1968. (She says I did not look at any of the other gifts.) August 2 will be the 45th anniversary of my PPL and August 20 will be the 45th anniversary of my Mooney check out.

We're booked here for 2 nights then a short flight to KIWI for a week.

www.innatsmithcove.com/  Very handy to KLCI.

Thanks for all the help.

VERY NICE Bob... I wish my wife and I could do that but she will not get within 20 yards of the plane.   You are a lucky man to have a wife like that.  We're going to Philly later this year to celebrate our 41st. We've never been there and we'll drive up (yuk).

Same with my wife.  She has really bad motion sickness problems and hates flying.  Really sucks to have an airplane and ability and desire to fly anywhere and not have a companion that can join in the party.  Very frustrating, even after 35 years together!  And I really hate driving, especially while calculating when we would have been there, wherever there is!

My empathy DrBill.
