Hi all,

I saw a 201 today that had a nose gear turn limit indicator. It was right on the nose gear so FBO personnel could keep the turn radius within spec while towing the plane. Hopefully this will keep them from damaging the nose gear when towing.

Does anyone know who makes this and where you can get it?

Thanks,

I agree.  I just came across this picture of my nose gear.  Is it like the one that you were referring to?

Hi Dave,

We installed the turn limit indicator at first annual.  It was not overly expensive, as I recall.  It's a MAC part that became available through a service bulletin.  The turn limits are reached very easily.

One way to prevent damage to the tubes is by wrapping them around with a piece of hose. Just cut along length a piece of 1/2" black rubber hose and slide onto the tubing. Secure the hoses with ty-wraps. This will prevent the tubes from denting each other should some one exceed the turn limits. Later models have turn stops that prevent tubing contact

I was wondering if anyone has any idea on whether the turn limit was reached when taxiing the plane (using the pedals, engine on).
