KSMooniac Posted April 10, 2013 Author Report Posted April 10, 2013 Well, the J is a refined F, and to my knowledge I don't think the gear system changed. If you know the part numbers for any of the nose gear pieces you might need, send them to me and I'll compare with my J manual. The firewall-forward stuff is all different, but I suspect firewall-aft is very, very similar for the most part. Of course Mooney might have changed the part numbers even if the parts are the same... Marauder Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 I always think of my F as the father of J Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 10, 2013 Author Report Posted April 10, 2013 It is! I did my Mooney training/transition in a '75 F, and when I got in my J I felt right at home...even down to the throttle quadrant that I don't like! In between, I flew some in C, E, and another F model as well. Quote
jetdriven Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 I always think of my F as the father of J I always though of a J as a "fixed" M20F. Quote

Yep that quadrant makes getting in and out a little tougher, but it sure makes go-arounds easy, just reach up, spread your hand, and firewall everything, just like the airlines do. Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 10, 2013 Author Report Posted April 10, 2013 That is the only good aspect of that quadrant, certainly. I hate the lack of precision in setting the prop and mixture, and especially the permanent bruise on my knee caps! I'm anxious to weigh the two systems when I make the swap to see if it is any heavier or lighter than conventional push-pull controls. Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 11, 2013 Author Report Posted April 11, 2013 I've only got one that is salvageable, and it is damaged slightly. The lower edge where the two pieces are riveted together is split, but can probably be re-formed and riveted back. PM me if you have any interest and I'll send you some pictures. Quote
OldGlassMan Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 Do y0u still have this? (sorry for the generic language, I copied it from some other inquiries that I have been making. I am sure you know about this part.) Looking for any Mooney Airspeed Safety Switch, (Any model with electric gear). Original part was Dukes 3203-00 on M20G. Any later part number from M20J and newer acceptable for installation by 337. This part may be found by looking behind the airspeed indicator. It is connected to Pitot System very near the airspeed indicator pitot system connection. Aome are in-line to the airspeed indicator, others are off of a "Tee". Must be functional and no air leaks on case surface. Thanks for looking, RFB Quote
vicelong Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 Hi, is the AP KFC200 available and can you tell me the price? Vic Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 OldGlassMan, I just sold the airspeed switch about 2 weeks ago...sorry! The autopilot is still available although one guy is checking with his shop right now to see if he wants to tackle the project. I'm on a trip currently and will send you a detailed message soon. Thanks! Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2 Quote
Urs_Wildermuth Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Scott, Just read this and wondering.... can that KFC200 and the 525 System go into a "C"? If so, I am interested. (Make that, I am interested in the HSI System in any case, but I would need to know if the KFC200 can be installed into a "C" Model to determine if I am interested in that as well). I take it, after being checked means yellow tag? Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 16, 2013 Author Report Posted April 16, 2013 Urs, I sent you a PM. Thanks Quote
autopatch Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Is the fuel selector switch, fuel selector assembly and related plumbing intact? Quote
KSMooniac Posted August 1, 2013 Author Report Posted August 1, 2013 They are, but I'm keeping those as spares for my J for now. Quote
johnmaher Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Hi, Do you still have the carpets? Quote
KSMooniac Posted September 6, 2013 Author Report Posted September 6, 2013 I do still have the carpets, and think there are some pics in my user gallery. Have a look, ask questions, shoot me an offer if they might work for you! EDIT: Here is the gallery link: http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/album/12989-ksmooniacs-album/ pics are at the bottom and include the side panels as well. They are available, and have matching carpet on the lower sections. Reviewing the pics now, it looks like there is variation with some of the carpet color, but I think that is my poor photo skills with the flash. The color is uniform throughout all of the pieces, with the exception of one small localized area on a baggage sidewall piece that looks like it got bleached. Quote
jsclafani Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 I am interersted in Front Seat belts...what color and what condition. Price? Also, rear strobe power supply box. Condition and price? Quote
PprophetBirdman Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 Did u sell the autopilot yet? Quote
KSMooniac Posted September 9, 2013 Author Report Posted September 9, 2013 The autopilot is still available, except for the roll servo. I still have the rest of the components, brackets, wires, etc. There is no rear strobe on this plane. The front seat belts are still available, black, and original 1981 as far as I can tell, so they look old. Quote
daverob Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 I need the left cowl flap and the right wing fuel tank sight gage (round). Can you help with these. Dave R Quote
KSMooniac Posted September 9, 2013 Author Report Posted September 9, 2013 The cowl flaps were destroyed, but I have both wing sight gages that I'm selling as a pair. New dials on both...there is a separate post in this classified section. Quote
johnmaher Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Hi Scott, Sorry for the delay in responding. I am definately interested in the carpets. Send me an email with the price. n3876h@gmail.com Quote
Epiphyte Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 I'm still working on getting my new bird to the shop, and while I'm waiting for the prop....do you have any instruments for sale? I'm looking for a duel oat/egt. Or any egt for that matter Quote
KSMooniac Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Posted September 16, 2013 Sorry, I already sold the OAT/EGT gauge. Don't have much left as far as avionics/instruments. KI-256 attitude indicator/flight director for the KFC 200, turn coordinator, altimeter. That's all I can remember off the top of my head right now. Quote
