I am in a desperate need of a voltage regulator. I heard the delivery time with Mooney is +6 months. Can anyone help me with a working or a not working one.

Mine got lost with UPS, returning from a repair shop.

Not sure what model you need, but Spruce has R1530B in stock for $619.

Mooney doesn't make voltage regulators.

I'm familiar with that part number since I provided it to someone that needed it back in 2019:

 

What I am saying is that there's no one at Mooney that assembles voltage regulators. Even back then they put their part number on a regulator that a company assembled, most likely Zeftronics. Why not go to the source?

I have send mine to him. After repair it got lost with UPS, because a faulty address has been given. After that Don send me another one, but that is not working……

The PCB manufacturer is not denoted on the PCB itself. It’s a pretty simple device, and they’re quite reliable. Would be a good fit for a used working one.

Most PWB manufacturers put their logo on the board somewhere. You just have to look for it.

I did. Mine wasn’t marked far as I saw.

Zeftronics who did Mooney's regulators is located in Longview TX, where Maxwell Aviation is.

My guess, when you send your regulator to Maxwell he takes it to Zeftronics or he has an employee that used to work at Zeftronics.

BAS is where my current 24V VR was obtained.  N1084L was grounded from last December until April while trying to fix Alt Field circuit breaker tripping. It was finally diagnosed to be the voltage regulator. We sent it to Don Maxwell to overhaul. When it came back, the breaker still tripped. It was sent back a second time, and still tripped the circuit breaker when it came back. Finally I ordered a used one from BAS and when it was installed, it cured the problem. We sent the original voltage regulator to Consolidated Aircraft Supply in New York (suggested by @kortopates)and had it repaired there, they found a cold soldered joint that was bad.

Just put in a plane power regulator they work great. They have field overcurrent protection. Zeftronics doesn’t. The warning light circuit won’t work unless you modify the light circuit.

That’s what I’ve heard as well and it makes me a little nervous about the two 24v regulators in my 252!

I know. It won’t work with the stock warning light. You have to rewire the warning light. But it will run your alternator just fine.

Don’t be, they are easily repaired by Consolidated Aircraft in New York, an electrical repair station. They have most of the Mooney drawings to repair these.
