driller Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Is this the correct place to get introduced? I've been out of the saddle for 15 years and now have a Mooney in prebuy inspection. Now that the kids are all in College, I'm looking forward to some airtime with the wife. Very nice website you have here. curt Quote
carusoam Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Curt, Welcome back... Find/push the view new posts button and start reading. I think you will like what you see. Best regards, -a- Quote
driller Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 97 M20K. I'm a former 231 owner. It was by far my favorite. Quote
M20Kid Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Welcome, Curt! I have been and airplane owner for many years but I'm new to Mooney. I recently picked up a 231 and I've gotten some great advice and information here. I hope you enjoy your new airplane and the Mooney community you find here! Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Curt, welcome on board. You will find an enormous amount of information and advice. Congrats to your Mooney. Quote
mooneygirl Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Welcome back to the fold Curt! Hope that your pre-buy goes well and you are zipping around Indiana very soon! Quote

driller Posted August 2, 2012 Author Report Posted August 2, 2012 Well, it took a little time, but she's all mine now. Quote
mooneygirl Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Looks great. You will have to hook up with some of the Mooney Ambassadors from Indiana. There is an event coming up: August 31-Sept 2nd. The 122nd Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base 3005 W Ferguson Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Ambassadors were specifically invited after the successful Indy Airshow. There should be five spots for display aircraft. Event website: http://www.fwairshow.com/ Point Person: Jim Elswick Quote

rainman Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Curt, Sweet looking Encore!! I have a 79 231 and am new to both flying and Mooneys having had the plane for a year, but I agree with you the K model is great...Welcome back and post some pictures in the photo gallery of that nice looking plane! jackn Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Welcome. A couple of Encores on this site. Cograts on your original Encore. Quote
fantom Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Very nice plane, and a great way to saddle up again! We have both true Encore's and 231/252 Encore conversions around here. Quote
bnicolette Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 That's a real looker Curt. Congratulations!! Have fun and be safe. B~ Quote
driller Posted August 2, 2012 Author Report Posted August 2, 2012 Thanks all. Looking forward to some fun. I'm planning on putting in a GTN 750 soon and taking out the 430W. Take a look at the picture below. During the prebuy I had to make sure the cylinders were not pitted due to the low time. The plane is also free from corrosion. Original paint and interior still look almost new. I'm having a hard time with the glitches on the site. Nothing is working in the text menu bar. Be nice if someone could address the issues. Quote
Mcstealth Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Goodness! I think you need to do something about that number. Quote

omega708 Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Welcome and happy flying Curt! Also, I sent you a PM regarding your 430W to GTN750 upgrade. Quote
driller Posted August 3, 2012 Author Report Posted August 3, 2012 Quote: DaV8or How about the cam? Did you pull a cylinder? Sounds like a real clean plane though and you got what many to believe to be the best of all the small engine Mooneys. Quote
