Recently imstalled new carpet and am attempting to get the floor mats installed and secured....

Instructions and guidance non existent.  I get the supplied clamps hold onto the floor mat and then the pointy end sticks into carpet.  This whole thing is loosy goosey, i.e. too much movement.  I guess i dont like it, but dont see how how else it is supposed to work?

Anyone else done this?  Am i missing something obvious?

You need to pull the belly and see what is below the back of the mats. If there isn’t anything there, just drill a couple of holes and put in a couple of sheet metal screws with finish washers.

That's what I did with the carpet in front of the back seat. Rear seat passengers kept pushing it forward, checked underneath, nothing there, drill and sheet metal screws and it hasn't moved since.

Byron @jetdriven did a really nice installation of his carpets using snaps to make them easily removable. That would probably be a neat way to do the mats. I believe he got the snaps from sailrite.com.
