The Parade of Planes sounds like it'll be interesting. I registered at www.paradeofplanes.com. So how does the Mooney Ambassador thing fit into it? Are we all going to park together somewhere or something? Sure, it's in my neighborhood, but I'll probably fly in anyway if I can; driving to an aviation event seems gauche.

Thank you for the question.  I will have more details as to how the Mooney Ambassadors are participating in the Parade of Planes early next week.  I will post all details as they are available.  We would be outside for sure, as I believe the indoor space is for the Acclaim.

Thank you for your interest, and check out our video on YouTube for our Jackson/Westover event.

Hi All

Regarding Parade of Planes in Hayward...  Mooney Airplane Company will be there and you are invited to register at Paradeofplanes.com .  If you go, please stop by the Mooney tent and say hello to Jennie Mitchell.  There will be no formal Mooney Ambassador presence there due to venue limits, but you are most welcome to go and support Mooney, and ooggle over the Acclaim!

We are gearing up for the many events coming after the New Year for the Mooney Ambassadors.  If you would like to know more, follow the link to our Facebook page.

I'm not on facebook, so if I can make a request it would be to cross post information here in addition to facebook.

At the Hayward event, do you know if we'll be able to park anywhere near the event?

Hi there

You do not have to be "on" face book to see the information, photos and videos.  I am not sure how to load videos onto MooneySpace, but would be happy to do so if possible.

Here is the link for FB:  http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=132057967005

For Parade of Planes....Mooney Airplane Company will be there with a beautiful Acclaim.  This is not a formal Mooney Ambassador event.  If you would like to go as an individual, you are more than welcome.  Registration for this free event is at Paradeofplanes.com.

I think I will be there on Saturday, but the ramp is not available for our parking/displays.

When I go to your link I am prompted for a login. That indicates to me that one has to be "on" facebook to see your pages.

The facebook link worked for me; I'm able to view the page. I'd still appreciate it if new videos are posted here, or at least a note that the facebook page is updated, since facebook non-members won't get that automatically.

Hmmm

I tried the link with two friend who do not use FB, they were able to get in....  I will do some more checking. We will be on Mooney.com soon, and you can also go to the YouTube videos, but I still think that FB page is cool. Sorry for the trouble.

The Ambassadors are flying to Minter Field, Shafter CA this Saturday.  I think we have five or six Mooneys coming.  If you would like to come and display, please contact me as soon as possible.  Email: MooneyAmbassadors@charter.net    If you would just like to come and say hello, eat some pancakes and have some fun, we will be displaying near the fuel island.

Hi Russ,

I sent you the PPP--Point Person Packet by email. It has templates for the display tags, prop tags, and lanyards. As well there is company history and announcer information.  I will contact Susan Harrison at Mooney and see who your sales rep is, they are usually the contact for brochures about Acclaims/O's.

Fun fun fun! I wish I could be there!

You might wish to take a look at the "How To" video on youtube:

You might want to look at GA Serves America, as they have great things to say or point out to folks at airport days/airshows.

http://www.gaservesamerica.com/resources.html

All in all, there is nothing to it. Have fun, celebrate general aviation and support Mooney. What a great day.  Take photos and video and we can work out something fun so we can all feel like we are there.

Here are some fun events coming up. Please register on the website or shoot an email back to MooneyAmbassadors@charter.net with the location you will be attending.
Have fun, fly safe, take photos!

Jolie and Mitch

Events:

Elko, Nevada Sky Fair September 11th, 2010  The purpose of Sky Fair is to showcase general aviation at the Elko Regional Airport. So this goal is directly in line with our Mooney Ambassadors mission.
It is intended to be educational and fun for the general public who normally do not have access to J.C. Harris field and aircraft. The event will be held on Saturday September 11th, 2010 on the same weekend as the Elko MoRodders Car Show. We will also have pilot goody bags and a fuel discount.  Will also do an informal VIP BBQ Friday night the day before the fly in.The event is FREE to the public and goes from 8 AM to 4 PM.  Point Person:  Randy Powell

Edenton, NC Northeastern Regional Airport, September 25
Point Person: Amelia Reiheld sure would love to have a gathering of Mooney Ambassadors there, so all you Mooney drivers, plan to join us in beautiful historic , for a fly-in/community open house at Northeastern Regional Airport. It'll probably run from 10-5 or so. We hope to have area military big-iron, both static and fly-over demos, RC demos, food vendors, free airplane rides, exhibits from charitable flight organizations, etc. Camping and airplane parking are (as always) free, though you'll need to bring your own tie-downs. If camping and fair-food isn't your style, reserve a car with Enterprise, and book a room in one of the wonderful B&Bs   in and around Edenton. There are some excellent restaurants, too. If Mama would rather tour the colonial historic sites and shop than talk airplanes, we'll find a ride into town.

Mariposa Airport EAA event, September 25, 2010
The Mariposa Airport is a gateway to the beautiful Yosemite area.  This fly-in was organized to highlight the importance of this GA airport.  Please come and show your support and represent for our company.  Point Person: Ron McBride.

Tehachapi Celebration of Flight, September 25th, 2010
Breakfast served 7 am to 10 am. Free airplane rides for kids aged 8-17.  Raffle and door prizes. Aircraft manufacture displays, automobile cruise-in, bake sale, tethered hot air balloon rides.  Point Person: Austin Kalb

Livermore, CA.  Airport Appreciation Day, October 2nd 2010
This annual event is a crowd pleaser   It features static display of local planes, warbirds, homebuilts and factory reps. Registration required.  Email jolielucas@charter.net for the pdf.  Point Person: Bob Keller

2010 Cane River Aviation Rendezvous, October 8th-10th, 2010 Natchitoches Regional Airport, Louisiana.  A good old fashioned fly-in complete with pancake breakfast, community involvement and a hangar dance with a big band. Point Person: Michael Gusko.  http://caneaviation.com/

The last Jerry Manthey Maintenance Course will be held October 2-3 in Wichita, Kansas (the original home of Mooney Aircraft Company).  Mooney models M20B-J will be studied Oct 2nd and models M20K-TN on Oct 3rd.  The course will be held at Yingling Aviation at the Mid-Continent Airport (ICT).  Actual aircraft will be reviewed in one of their nice hangers.  There is a chance we will even be in the same hanger where the Cessna Skycatchers are being assembled.  Doughnuts and coffee for breakfast and box lunches will be provided.  A maintenance manual will also be provided for you to keep.  Cost is only $199.00 per person.  I need a minimum of 20 individuals to sign up.  I spoke to Jerry, again, today and we agreed to see how many people are paid in full by Sept 6th to make a go/no-go decision so register imediately (this will allow him plenty of time to buy plane tickets).  Let everyone know and pay for your mechanics to attend.  You can register/pay the Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association (MAPA) at (210) 525-8008.  This will be Jerry's last class, due to retirement, so make sure to not miss out!  The MAPA Convention is the following weekend in Colorado Springs so this is a convienant location for our out-of-town visitors to attend both.  Feel free to contact me at jasonwojo@msn.com or (316) 708-0713 to answer any of your questions.  Remember to not procrastinate with your registration/payment!!!

Join MAPA at Colorado Springs for their annual convention. October 7-10th 2010
Who can beat the top-notch presentations, socialization, opportunity to fly and stay someplace wonderful?  Mooney Airplane Company will also be in attendance.
Look for registration information soon at: www.Mooneypilots.com
Or contact Lela Hughes at MAPA headquarters for more information: lela.hughes@sbcglobal.net or telephone 210-525-8008

We had a great Mooney Ambassador get together at the Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-In last weekend (28-29 August) in Denver.  We had five Mooney's on the hot ramp, which included a E, F, J, K and M.  We were able to "share the passion" with the public, who had easy access to our planes.  One 11 year old boy wanted one of the Mooney Ambassador autograph because he thought his plane looked so "sweet".

I have posted a few of the pictures in FlyingAggie's gallery on MooneySpace and some additonal pictures are also at http://picasaweb.google.com/111183442850042080606/RMRFI#

Let's all get together at AirVenture 2011.  First off ArtCraft Painting and the Mooney Ambassadors are sponsoring Mooney Happy Hour 12-2 at the Building C hospitality room. Come have a cool drink and meet old/new friends.

Our presentation: PGA Squared is on Thursday July 28th at 10:00 a.m. at EAA Museum's [airconditioned!] Vette Theater.

Lt Dan Band is Friday night at the Theater in the Woods. I am going to try to save a row of seat for those with tails on in correct way.

You'd better get to the Theater in the Woods pretty darn early Friday Ms. Lucas in order to do that!  At least close enough where we can see the stage!  Wink

While not an official Mooney Ambassador event yesterday I went to the airport with my son and one of his friends.  His friend had never been up close to a small airplane before or even on a commercial flight.  I let him get in told him about the controls, instruments and radios.  Unfortunately it was too wet, rainy and nasty yesterday to go up for a quick flight.  He seemed excited about going flying.
