I have a 75 M20C that the landing light indication light does not illuminate when landing light is on. It does however illuminate when the "push to test" button is pressed. I'm trying to figure out how the light ties in with the indicator but can't find the schematic for 20Cs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have those schematics, but someone around here will come along.  Welcome to MooneySpace.

You have a landing light indicator???

My 65C… had a switch… up is on.

My 94R… has a switch… up is on.

Are we discussing the same thing?

Welcome aboard Josh…

I think you are discussing the iris adjustable push to test device…

Be aware that the iris opens when you rotate the knurled knob.

It may be annoying in a dark cockpit, so somebody twisted it to close the iris and block the light…

:)

For additional info… post a pic of what you are discussing…

Best regards,

@carusoam Yes. The landing light switch is a push button on the throttle. The indicator is on the glareshield. After doing a little digging, I found the switch toggles ground which throws the landing light relay. It is a dual pole dual throw relay but was missing the wire that would give power to the indication light. I ran a new wire and it all works now.

Nice going.  Sometimes electrical issues can stump the best.
