Pinecone Posted January 6, 2023 Report Posted January 6, 2023 Hmm, part of the pre-flight/pre-start is to drain the gascolator on EACH tank. Part of the pre-takeoff is to switch tanks. I like knowing, BEFORE I take off, that I can feed fuel from both tanks.

Caution to not switch tanks right before takeoff. Pre-taxi is NOT right before takeoff. If the selecred tank is low, then I just switch back to the fuller one. Two switches right after cranking up!
Pinecone Posted January 7, 2023 Report Posted January 7, 2023 I crank and taxi on one tank. Normally the lower one. Then switch to the fully one before the runup.
